SUMMARY:The Story Of The Irchester Bowls
DESCRIPTION:The Irchester bowls were found in 1874 by the antiquarian the Rev. Baker. This remains an important and significant discovery of beautifully crafted bowls and strainers. They were buried in the late 300s making them over 1500 years old. The hoard is of regional and national significance and has been re-evaluated by Dr James Gerrard and Marci Romeo-Pitone of Newcastle University along with the Knaresborough hoard from Yorkshire. This includes exciting new metallurgical analysis using contemporary scientific study.  There are strong similarities between two hoards including  the story of how they were found. This study event will discuss the analysis and new research telling story of the hoard. In partnership with the Archaeological Resources Centre\, Chester House.

SUMMARY:And In The End – A Celebration Of 50 Years Of Abbey Road And Let It Be
DESCRIPTION:Following on from their hugely successful tour in 2017/18\, the award-winning Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the nation’s premier Beatles group\, The Bootleg Beatles\, join forces once again to deliver a Beatles experience like no other. \nExperience two of the Beatles’ most iconic albums performed afresh in this special musical collaboration\, adding a classical twist and performing beautifully arranged symphonic versions of these timeless classics\, including masterpieces such as Here Comes The Sun\, Come Together and The Long And Winding Road. \nThe tour marks 50 years since the release of these final two albums – Abbey Road (released 26 September 1969) and Let It Be (released 8 May 1970)\, and will explore the journey to the end of The Beatles – celebrating the music of this era and the legacy that endures to this day. This unique live staging will be an unmissable event for Beatles fans of all ages! \nWe were deeply saddened and shocked to hear of the death of Neil Innes who was due to present this show – he will be greatly missed. This concert will go ahead as planned\, and further updates will be confirmed in due course.
