DESCRIPTION:Feel the Flow –Lisa Timmerman \nWe are delighted to welcome Lisa Timmerman\, who returns\, after 10 years\, to 78 Derngate to display her evocative work in our newly refurbished galleries for her 5th solo exhibition: ‘Flow’. \nFor Lisa\, the journey to this exhibition began in Burma Myanmar in 2016 and flowed through to a quote by Kabul Gibron: ‘Beauty is not in the face\, beauty is a light in the heart.’ Since 2019 she has been working with oil\, cold wax and other painting techniques\, experimenting with ways to give the viewer their own lift and ‘light in the heart’ moment. \nEnjoy the moving tranquillity of these paintings and reflect on the thoughts behind them at Lisa Timmerman’s exhibition entitled “Flow”.  It runs from Wednesday April 3rd to June 29th in our Barwell Room and Mezzanine Galleries\, open 10 am – 4.30 pm (closed Mondays).  Free entry to exhibitions\, all work for sale.  Why not take the perfect opportunity and combine a visit to the exhibition together with a trip round the adjacent Charles Rennie Mackintosh House (for which there is an entry fee) gardens\, restaurant and shop. \n  \nwww.lisatimmerman.co.uk

DESCRIPTION:Coming soon\, an exhibition in The Temporary Exhibition Gallery at Northampton Museums and Art Gallery \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNorthampton Museum and Art Gallery \n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday 16 March – Sunday 9 June 2024\n\n\n\n\n\nVivienne Westwood was seen as the Grand Dame of fashion design for over 50 years. Her work with partner Malcolm McLaren defined the look of punk in the 1970s and subsequent fashion collections shaped the fashion world of the late twentieth century. This exhibition showcases a small part of an extensive personal collection that features her iconic shoes and outfits from her career defining collections such as Seditionairies\, favoured by the Sex Pistols and Pirate. The Vivienne Westwood brand was not involved in the curation or organisation of this exhibition.

DESCRIPTION:The choice and use of grapes in wine is quite a complex subject – not only do winemakers have to adapt their choice of grapes to different terroirs and climates – but also to different tastes\, as consumers ultimately determine the style\, taste and strength of the wine that they want to buy. What’s more\, in certain countries there are rules which dictate which grapes can be grown in which region\, so inevitably some grapes will be left behind. For this masterclass\, we’ll be taking a look at the Forgotten Grapes of the wine industry – discovering where they grow\, how they taste and why they have been forgotten.
