DESCRIPTION:Feel the Flow –Lisa Timmerman \nWe are delighted to welcome Lisa Timmerman\, who returns\, after 10 years\, to 78 Derngate to display her evocative work in our newly refurbished galleries for her 5th solo exhibition: ‘Flow’. \nFor Lisa\, the journey to this exhibition began in Burma Myanmar in 2016 and flowed through to a quote by Kabul Gibron: ‘Beauty is not in the face\, beauty is a light in the heart.’ Since 2019 she has been working with oil\, cold wax and other painting techniques\, experimenting with ways to give the viewer their own lift and ‘light in the heart’ moment. \nEnjoy the moving tranquillity of these paintings and reflect on the thoughts behind them at Lisa Timmerman’s exhibition entitled “Flow”.  It runs from Wednesday April 3rd to June 29th in our Barwell Room and Mezzanine Galleries\, open 10 am – 4.30 pm (closed Mondays).  Free entry to exhibitions\, all work for sale.  Why not take the perfect opportunity and combine a visit to the exhibition together with a trip round the adjacent Charles Rennie Mackintosh House (for which there is an entry fee) gardens\, restaurant and shop. \n  \nwww.lisatimmerman.co.uk

DESCRIPTION:Coming soon\, an exhibition in The Temporary Exhibition Gallery at Northampton Museums and Art Gallery \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNorthampton Museum and Art Gallery \n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday 16 March – Sunday 9 June 2024\n\n\n\n\n\nVivienne Westwood was seen as the Grand Dame of fashion design for over 50 years. Her work with partner Malcolm McLaren defined the look of punk in the 1970s and subsequent fashion collections shaped the fashion world of the late twentieth century. This exhibition showcases a small part of an extensive personal collection that features her iconic shoes and outfits from her career defining collections such as Seditionairies\, favoured by the Sex Pistols and Pirate. The Vivienne Westwood brand was not involved in the curation or organisation of this exhibition.

DESCRIPTION:This tour will allow you to visit areas of the Guildhall which are not always open to the public. \nWe meet in the Spencer Percival foyer of the Guildhall. This is the entrance to the old part of the Guildhall by the public toilets and statue of Spencer Percival. From there. we will explore areas including council and public meeting rooms\, the old Town Hall keepers living quarters and the basement cells. \nThe maximum group size for tours is 12. \nAlthough all public areas of the building are accessible by lift\, the basement can only be reached by stairs. \nDue to uneven floors in places\, please wear appropriate footwear. \nThis tour is not suitable for children under 8 years old. \nAll children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. \nTours will last approximately 1 hour.
