DESCRIPTION:An exhibition of drawings from the Northampton Museums & Art Gallery collection. \nThis exhibition explores drawing as a fundamental artistic language\, presenting preparatory sketches and finished works that reveal how ideas take shape on paper. Through the delicate studies of Henry Moore\, the atmospheric sketches of Walter Sickert\, the imaginative designs of Sir Edward Burne Jones\, and the expressive drawings of Clare Abbatt\, amongst others\, visitors are invited to consider drawing not merely as a preliminary step but as an art form in its own right. The works on display highlight how artists across different periods and practices use line\, tone\, and observation to experiment\, problem solve\, and refine their vision. Together\, they celebrate drawing’s enduring role as a tool for exploration\, invention\, and creative thinking.

SUMMARY:Rose Finn Kelcey: House Rules
DESCRIPTION:Arts Collective launches its new gallery programme with an exhibition revisiting the pioneering work of British conceptual artist Rose Finn-Kelcey\, curated by Emer Grant. This marks the first presentation of the artist’s work in her hometown of Northampton. \nFeaturing photographic\, installation and video works loaned from national collections and archives\, the exhibition recontextualises Finn-Kelcey’s groundbreaking practice through architectural space and coded forms. It considers how formal systems and power structures shape experience through architecture\, language\, ritual and atmosphere. \nExhibited publicly for the first time since its original installation\, Bar Doors (1991) captures architectural thresholds\, foregrounding moments of passage between spaces. The photographic documentation of Finn-Kelcey’s site-specific installation—seven saloon-style doors installed in a Houston city park—invites viewers to reconsider familiar architectural features as markers of access and permission. \nThe exhibition also explores Finn-Kelcey’s fascination with spirituality and its connections to the commercial and domestic structures of contemporary life\, featuring works such as It Pays to Pray (1990)\, God Kennel – A Tabernacle (1992) and Jolly God (1997). Her iconic flag works are also presented\, including documentation of Power for the People (1972)\, in which a collective political declaration was placed directly onto the monumental architecture of Battersea Power Station while it remained operational. \nThroughout the exhibition\, architecture\, movement and attention shape how the works are encountered. SUMMARY:Comedy Crate Festival 2026 - Part One
DESCRIPTION:3 Venues – The Charles Bradlaugh\, The Black Prince and The Lamplighter\n\n\n\n\n\n15 acts in total across the day. You’ll get to see a maximum of 5 shows\, choosing between the 15 acts. It will be wristband entry. Collection of wristbands will be on the day\, giving you access to all venues. All the shows will be Edinburgh Previews or Work in Progress shows. These are great opportunities to see acts try out some new stuff in preparation for their Edinburgh runs and upcoming tour shows. Each show will be roughly 1 hour long. There will also be half hour intervals between each show\, with a 1 hour interval after the 2nd show to allow for a decent food break. \n \nRhys James: Chop Logic\nRhys made a discovery that could fix everything. It’s been staring him in the face this whole time\, in a mirror held behind his head. If he can somehow ignore his own problems\, he might just be able to solve yours. A fast\, forensic hour of big ideas and gag-dense overthinking from one of Britain’s sharpest stand-ups. Star of Mock the Week\, also seen furrowing his brow on QI and Live At The Apollo. ‘Scintillating stand-up’ **** (Times). \n \nPaul Foot: The Future\nHello and OMG. Everything’s wrong in the world. Fiona needs a perfect lie to avoid her pet hate of social gatherings. Running out of time and patience she encounters every obstacle a day can throw at her. It all threatens to derail her quest to find the perfect lie. She must confront her worst fear: her neighbours party. It’s a fate worse than death and the clock is ticking. She’s going to have to war-game it. Well\, the beginnings of a new show. Well\, she’s certainly thinking about beginning a new show. Certainly she’s certain she should be.
