DESCRIPTION:Small Business Saturday returns on Saturday\, 6th December\, and we will be using this as an opportunity to champion our wide range of independent town centre businesses. \nNorthampton town centre is set to burst into festive life on Small Business Saturday\, with a packed programme of family-friendly activities\, character appearances and a town-wide competition designed to encourage shoppers to explore and support local businesses. \nThe highlight of the activities on Saturday\, 6 December will be a mischievous ‘Grinch Takeover’ in Market Square\, where families can enjoy meet-and-greet sessions with the Grinch every 30 minutes between 3 pm and 5.30 pm. Expect festive fun\, photo opportunities and plenty of seasonal mischief. \nEarlier in the day\, budding bakers can get creative at cupcake decorating workshops in the Grosvenor Gatherings unit at Grosvenor Shopping Northampton. Running from 11 am to 3 pm\, the sessions are free to take part in and perfect for younger visitors looking to add a sweet treat to their Christmas countdown. \nWe are also launching a special Grinch-themed competition. Families are invited to hunt for Grinch puppets\, hand-crocheted by the Northamptonshire Women’s Institute\, that will be displayed in shops around the town. \nSome puppets will be holding a letter. DESCRIPTION:Cyber security is not only an IT problem. It impacts every high street business\, small independent\, and individual\, as well as banks and big businesses. It’s increasingly important you understand the risks you face\, and how best to prepare and respond. \nNorthampton Town Centre BID is staging a new event aimed at business owners in the town centre – giving YOU the chance to hear first-hand what cyber security means for you and your business. \nThis is an opportunity to hear from experts as they ‘demystify’ the subject of cyber security\, and spell out in simple terms\, what you can do to protect your data and keep you and your business safe. \nWe will be running the event in the Gatherings unit of Grosvenor Shopping Centre\, on Wednesday\, April 30. \n· The morning session will run from 10am to noon \n· The afternoon session will run from 2pm to 4pm. \nBoth sessions contain the same content\, so you only need to attend one session. \nHeather Francis is the Digital and Technology Delivery Manager within the Office of the Northamptonshire Police\, Fire and Crime Commissioner and runs the Northamptonshire Cyber Security Forum\, in conjunction with Northamptonshire Police. \nChris Lambert\, of Datasense Consulting Ltd\, has been running various IT support businesses from Northampton for the past 20 years. He will offer guidance on how to avoid common mistakes and outline the resources available from the East Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre. \nEvelyn Williams\, of In2secure Ltd\, is a NCSC approved Cyber Advisor who works with businesses to improve their cyber security. She will introduce the Government backed Cyber Essentials scheme and provide practical guidance so you can protect both your business\, and yourself\, from cybercrime.

DESCRIPTION:Some of the most endangered animals in the world will be on show in Northampton this Easter as the town centre hosts an amazing trail of sculptures made entirely from toy bricks. \nThe Animal Paradise trail\, presented and built by BRICKLIVE\, has been commissioned by Northampton Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) and will feature 15 models of creatures including snow leopards\, tigers\, penguins and orangutans. \nFamilies can get involved in the trail\, which runs from April 1-16 by downloading the LoyalFree app onto their smartphone and scanning QR codes at each host venue to find out more about the model creature on display in the window. All those who complete the trail via the app will be entered into a prize draw to win one of two £100 vouchers.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday March 12 to Sunday March 27\nPAW Patrol fans will be able to meet their favourite cartoon characters as Northampton town centre hosts an amazing ‘brick trail’ of sculptures from the hit show. \nThe town centre is set to host up to 21 models including favourite characters and buildings from the hit Nick Jr. show\, presented and built by BRICKLIVE. \nFamilies can join in the search and find the brightly coloured toy brick models with characters including Chase\, Marshall\, Skye and the gang all waiting to be found in and around the town centre. \nDuring the two-week event\, which runs from Saturday\, March 12 to Sunday\, March 27\, visitors can collect a trail-map and answer questions based on each of the models to be in with a chance of winning one of four £50 vouchers to spend in town centre businesses. \nTrail maps and prize draw entry forms can be collected from participating businesses and can also be downloaded from our website here. \nEntries can be posted into a specially designed post box located in Grosvenor Shopping during the two weeks the pups are in town. \nGood Luck! \n
