DESCRIPTION:A change to the published programme.  Dr Adam Masters The Open University having recently passed his PhD. \nIn 1850\, astronomer John Russell Hind was keeping a close eye on the star HD 38451. He originally observed it two years earlier\, noting its strong red appearance. Hind was interested in variable stars and had noticed that many red stars showed interesting variations\, so he suspected that HD 38451 might be variable too. what he saw\, though\, took him completely by surprise: HD 38451 had completely changed colour and now appeared as a brilliant blue-white\, which it remains tot his day. At the time this change lacked any explanation\, and even to this day there are unanswered questions about the behaviour of this star. Join me as I tell the story of what we now think happened in 1850\, what modern observations tell us\, and what we still don’t understand about HD 38451.

Well OK\, we’ll mention a few: its Tony® Award for Best Musical\, Olivier Award for Best New Musical\, Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Score… no big deal but the list goes on! \nWith direction by Adam Penford (Artistic Director at Nottingham Playhouse)\, this brand-new production marks the first time that the Broadway and West End phenomenon will tour the UK and Ireland. Casting has been announced with Ryan Kopel (Newsies) cast in the iconic role of Evan Hansen\, alongside Lauren Conroy (Into The Woods) as Zoe Murphy and Alice Fearn (Wicked\, Come From Away) as Evan’s mum\, Heidi. \nThey will be joined by Helen Anker (Mamma Mia!) as Cynthia Murphy\, Richard Hurst (The Lion King) as Larry Murphy\, Killian Thomas Lefevre (Bat Out Of Hell) as Connor Murphy\, Tom Dickerson (Heathers) as Jared Kleinman and Vivian Panka (9 to 5 the Musical) as Alana Beck. \nThe show collaborated with TikTok during the audition process\, inviting those interested in being cast in the production to upload a video singing any number from the show. So when the British Secret Service asks him to become their Man in Havana he can’t afford to say no. \nThere’s just one problem: he doesn’t know anything! To avoid suspicion he begins concocting a series of intricate fictions. To avoid suspicion he begins concocting a series of intricate fictions.
