SUMMARY:'49 Miles More' with shorts 'Blackpool' & 'Toad in the Hole' (18) with filmmaker Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Comedy and drama your thing? We promise you laughs and plenty of drama with this selection. You’ll be able to put your questions to some of the filmmakers after the screening. \nBen Norris’ debut short\, comedy ‘Toad in the Hole’ premiered at London Film Festival 2025 before heading off on the festival circuit. We also have NFF alumni Stephen Gallacher back with his latest short ‘Blackpool’. Shane Meadows says it’s “A cracking short that punches harder than the usual drama…. Beautifully shot and acted short that finds massive heart and humour in the guts of Blackpool.” \nThese shorts are followed by feature ’49 Miles More’. While driving to an annual reunion with their university friends\, Max\, an unsuccessful insurance salesman\, and his fun loving buddy\, Doug break down. With 50 miles to go\, their only option is to brave the wilderness on foot.

SUMMARY:Creative and Changemaker short films with CLICK Arts Foundation (12A) + filmmaker Q&A
DESCRIPTION:This screening is in collaboration with CLICK Arts Foundation – all of the ticket sale profits go to CLICK who support performing arts projects with a focus on bringing the best out of a community. Please join us at Grandbies after the screening – book a free ticket on this site. \nThis screening is of local and British short films ranging from 1 minute to 20 minutes in length which meet the Creative or Changemaker remit of our festival manifesto – that Northants is a county of Rebels and Revolutionaries\, Misfits and Mavericks\, Creatives and Changemakers. We thought this screening particularly resonated with our charity partner CLICK! It includes animations\, dance films\, dramas\, comedies\, experimental films and documentaries so a real creative mix. \nCLICK Arts Foundation support groups who focus on social inclusion and personal development through the arts. We are the natural expansion of CLICK Productions\, where we produced plays and ran drama and movement workshops to support\, fundraise for\, and connect with the community since 1993. We recognise that the benefits of involvement in the arts extend far beyond the stage and as a charity\, we support those who provide a safe and nurturing space to promote growth through all aspects of performance and creativity. \nContains some themes that audience members might find distressing such as discussions of abuse (suitable for a 12A certificate)\, detention/immigration issues\, environmental issues and mental health. There is mild threat and infrequent bad language. SUMMARY:Misfit and Maverick short films (18) + filmmaker Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Northants is a county of Rebels and Revolutionaries\, Misfits and Mavericks\, Creatives and Changemakers – so here’s a selection of shorts from our 2026 submissions which we thought fitted under the Misfits or Mavericks themes. Here at NFF we think there’s lots of positivity around the idea of being a misfit. Misfits and Mavericks think differently\, take up space differently\, but also sometimes we all have that desire to just fit in…. \nFilms start promptly at 8.15pm – no trailers. Doors open 20 minutes before the films start. \nNorthampton Filmhouse has step free access to the screening room but only 1 wheelchair space and only 1 row of chairs without using steps. The wheelchair space can be booked below but if you’d like to reserve a space in the top row please book a ticket then contact us. If you are a wheelchair user who wants to attend but the wheelchair space is sold out\, please contact us so we can see what we can do. \n50p from every ticket sold for Northampton Filmhouse festival screening goes to our charity partner CLICK Arts Foundation. Home – Click Arts Foundation

There’s also music\, comedy\, dance and drama. \nWe’ve got 2 screenings in one event for you – a PG screening 3pm-4pm then a short interval followed by a 20-minute 12A screening from about 3.15pm. The path from the car park to the venue is a flat gravel path. There is step free access to all spaces and a disabled toilet. Some floors in the Abbey are uneven (not our main event space though).
