SUMMARY:Comedy Crate Festival 2026 - Part Two
DESCRIPTION:3 Venues – The Charles Bradlaugh\, The Black Prince and The Lamplighter \n15 acts in total across the day. You’ll get to see a maximum of 5 shows. It will be wristband entry. Collection of wristbands will be on the day\, giving you access to all venues. All the shows will be Edinburgh Previews or Work in Progress shows. These are great opportunities to see acts try out some new stuff in preparation for their Edinburgh runs and upcoming tour shows. Each show will be roughly 1 hour long. There will also be half hour intervals between each show\, with a 1 hour interval after the 2nd show to allow for a decent food break. \n \nBrennan Reece: Work In Progress\nStar of Live At The Apollo\, Roast Battle and BBC Radio 4. With over 100 Million Views online\, and tour support for Joe Lycett\, Micky Flanagan and Nick Offerman…Brennan is back with a brand new hour of funny thoughts\, daft stories and the occasional swear word. Soz. \n \nAbandoman: God is a DJ\nAbandoman is back – and this year\, it’s a party. Blending hip-hop with euphoric dance music\, Rob Broderick’s award-winning improvised comedy show turns your suggestions into original bangers\, live and unrepeatable every single night. Razor-sharp wit\, genuine warmth and unstoppable audience interaction make this one of the festivals most joyful\, unpredictable shows. ‘Clever\, quick-witted and audacious’ **** (Scotsman). \n \nAndrew White: What a Life!\nAn only child with two siblings\, Andrew White enjoyed a precocious childhood befriending retirees and penning self-indulgent poetry\, until a literal circus clown warned him of imminent death on his 18th birthday. All the jester foretold came to pass\, and now Andrew must reflect on life without three close loved ones and do his best to honour their memories. A hilarious\, raw and heart-warming stand-up show all about living right\, dying happy and appealing parking fines with a 76% success rate. ‘Very funny’ (Joe Lycett). ‘Outrageously funny’ (BroadwayWorld.com). ‘A plethora of memorable gags’ **** (Chortle.co.uk). \n \nSpencer Jones: Dogs\nBAFTA-nominated and double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee brings his brand-new show to Edinburgh. As seen on Cats Does Countdown\, Mind Of Herbert Clunkerdunk\, Ted Lasso\, Mr Winner\, Live at the Apollo. A show for people who love dogs and for people who don’t. They’ll be all new characters\, stupid songs\, visual comedy\, stories and maybe an answer to the question: Are dogs better than humans? \n \nAndrew Maxwell: Work In Progress\nAs seen on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here (ITV1)\, Live At The Apollo (BBC One)\, Have I Got News For You (BBC One)\, Qi (BBC2)\, Celebrity Juice (ITV2)\, Mock The Week (BBC Two)\, Roast Battle (Comedy Central) and Winner of Celebrity Mastermind (BBC One). \n \nEsther Manito: Work In Progress\nFresh off the back of her acclaimed specials and seen on Live at the Apollo\, The Stand Up Sketch Show\, and Hypothetical\, Esther Manito is heading back to the stage to test out brand-new material. \nExpect Esther’s signature blend of sharp wit\, observational storytelling\, and a hilariously blunt look at family life\, identity\, and the chaos of the modern world. This is a rare chance to see a world-class comic in an intimate setting\, refining new jokes and exploring fresh ideas before they hit the big stages. \n \nAlex Kitson: Now Look Here\nIt’s nice to do things in real life isn’t it? After two critically acclaimed shows in 2024 and 2025\, multi award-winning comedian Alex Kitson has a brand-new hour of stand-up comedy to show you. He’s talking about attention so if you could direct yours his way he’d be very grateful. One of the best reviewed shows of the Edinburgh Fringe 2025. ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer nominee. Dave’s Funniest Joke of the Edinburgh Fringe nominee ‘The future of British comedy’ ***** (ThreeWeeks). \n \nHoratio Gould: The Boogie Man\nMore ‘original\, probing wit’ (Scotsman) from voice of a generation comedian\, hit podcast co-host (Fin vs History\, Boys Gone Wild) and Fin vs The Internet co-creator. ‘Unequivocally excellent’ **** (Skinny). **** (Scotsman). \n \nLou Wall: Where Are All The Tall Grandmas?\nWhere are all the tall grandmas? Be honest\, you’ve never seen one\, have you? So where the f#%k are they? Do they shrink? Die young? Are short kings eating them? In this hilariously unhinged new hour\, Lou dives head first into the disappearance of tall old women everywhere. A comedic investigation into height\, heritage and what it truly means to live large. ‘Wall is a comedy whirlwind’ (New York Times). Nominee: Most Outstanding Show\, Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2025. \n \nDee Allum: Raumdeuter\nFootball is\, of course\, gay. Common knowledge\, but important\, nonetheless. But could it also be – transgender? In a show about mortality\, transformation and genitals\, comedian Dee Allum asks the big questions. What is purpose? Who is Britain? And why pick a show title that people won’t understand? Some of these questions will be answered in this sophomore stand-up show following Dee’s award-nominated debut Deadname. ‘More than impressive; it’s damn near perfect’ ***** (EdFringeReview.com). \n \nToussaint Douglass: Work In Progress\nTired of being seen as ‘odd’ by his peers\, family\, close friends\, agent\, fellow beekeepers and long-term partner\, award-winning comedian Toussaint Douglass is out to prove he can be just as mainstream as all the big successful comedians. \nStar Of: Late Night Mash (DAVE) Outsiders (DAVE) Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled (DAVE)\, Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV) \n \nDan Tiernan: Quartz and All\nDan Tiernan is back at it again: and this time he’s got magic rocks in his pocket. With a hat trick of sold-out Edinburgh shows\, Dan’s a double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee\, who has received countless five-star reviews. No wonder the Guardian has named him ‘one of comedy’s most distinctive new voices’. Dan returns to the Fringe armed with an amethyst\, a bucketful of sage and a rose quartz the size of his impossibly large head. As seen on Live at the Apollo\, 8 Out of Ten Cats Does Countdown\, The Last Leg\, and QI. \n \nMarty Gleeson: Dog Ear\nHello\, Irish comedian Marty Gleeson whispers gently but sternly\, her hand outstretched\, one eye lit like a spark\, the other dead behind it. Come on. Unnerved but excited\, you take her hand. Gleeson begins to buck and screech; her sparky eye glows brighter. The other falls right out of her head. Leave it\, she growls\, pulling you headfirst into her debut hour\, Dog Ear. You’ll see magpies like you’ve never seen\, news reporters in unexpected places and flaw-filled moments of humanity. BBC New Comedy Award finalist and Channel 4 Sean Lock Award 2024. \n \nAmelia Hamilton: Moral Support\nAmelia Hamilton\, ‘the rapping comic you instantly adore’ ***** (One4Review.co.uk) and 2025 ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer winner\, returns with Moral Support – a show that is unpredictable\, sharp and surprising at every turn. Featured on BBC Radio 4 and BBC iPlayer\, Hamilton skewers modern morality\, joyfully dismantling everything from bad men with excellent manners to competitive happiness\, gravedigging’s inevitable rebrand and why we should absolutely re-stigmatise mental health. Smart\, subversive and gloriously off-beat. ‘You do not want to miss the talent that is Amelia Hamilton’ ***** (EdFestMag.com). \nJamie Allerton: Work In Progress\nVenues:\nThe Charles Bradlaugh – 1 Earl St\, Northampton NN1 3AU \nThe Black Prince – 15 Abington Square\, Northampton NN1 4AE \nThe Lamplighter (Saturday only) – 66 Overstone Rd\, Northampton NN1 3JS \nPlease note\, all venues have a limited capacity\, if there is an act you really want to see\, please get to that venue in plenty of time. \n*Line ups are always subject to change for reasons out of our control. We always try to book the best acts around the country\, however with that comes the risk of last minute cancellations due to TV work\, corporate events etc. Comics are also human\, so ill health also plays its part.
