SUMMARY:DRET – Primary Music Festival (The Magic Flute) – 2023
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Royal Opera House\, The Voices Foundation and Nevill Holt Opera\, pupils from the David Ross Education Trust (Briar Hill Primary School\, Cedar Road Primary School\, Eastfield Academy\, King’s Heath Primary Academy\, Malcolm Arnold Preparatory School and The Arbours Primary Academy) will perform a 60-minute version of Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Conducted by Nicholas Chalmers\, the pupils join with singers and instrumentalists from Nevill Holt Opera’s Associate Artist programme to retell this magical interpretation of Mozart’s ever popular opera. Relive the story of the prince Tamino discovering the princess Pamina\, of the birdcatcher Papageno desperately searching for his ‘Papagena’\, of the powerful Sarastro battling the evil Queen of the Night\, and of the mysterious power of a magic flute and magic bells. Perfect for audiences young and old.
