SUMMARY:Othello RE:MX - Royal & Derngate
DESCRIPTION:Othello RE:MX takes place in a post-apocalyptic\, industrial setting. This much-shortened version of Shakespeare’s famous tragedy concentrates on the background of Othello and relationship between Othello and Iago. Things start to go wrong when  Desdemona and Cassio appear on the scene and they all career towards a climactic finish through their dystopian setting against a backdrop of industrial electronic music\, digital dreams and dark landscapes. The piece incorporates dance\, poignant snippets of Shakespeare’s text\, creative captions and BSL. \nStarring a black\, gender-fluid Othello\, we bring the story bang up to date as social commentary of our times.  Is this the future of theatre?

All money from this event will be donated to charity. \nThere will be a £1 charge to secure the booking per family\, using PayPal.  \n6 tickets per half hour will be sold to allow a provision of 5 minutes with Santa. \nThe last family to arrive for their half-hour session will have to wait 25 minutes. \nFamilies will be able to take their own photos with Santa. \nEach child will receive a gift. \n
