We’re hosting a film screening for Sewing Stories and a pop-up shop where you can discover upcycled art & fashion pieces created by XEN whilst immersing yourself in a short film based on sustainability within the fashion industry and XENs back story along the way. \nThis community based project has been filmed over the past year and we are exciting to be showcasing it on October the 12th. The film follows the process of creating a unique art/fashion piece using the scraps from local businesses. Starring XEN as the local artisan and how his passion has taken him where he is. \nThe entire film was created by a group of talented students from the university of Northampton as their final year project. The local family owned businesses involved in the film and supplying the material used are Passenger Outfitters\, Time Warp and Lyon Leathers. \nAlongside the film there will be a pop up shop showcasing and selling XEN pieces created over the past few years spanning over multiple collections. There will also be baked goods to enjoy and a bar downstairs at the main V&B entrance. \nDon’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to support independent creators and enjoy a short film on a Sunday with like-minded individuals. These dedicated individuals\, from historians and collectors to community groups\, have worked alongside the museum team to select objects and craft narratives. Their collaborative efforts ensure this exhibition truly reflects the breadth of Northamptonshire’s heritage\, guided by those who know their communities best.
