DESCRIPTION:Feel the Flow –Lisa Timmerman \nWe are delighted to welcome Lisa Timmerman\, who returns\, after 10 years\, to 78 Derngate to display her evocative work in our newly refurbished galleries for her 5th solo exhibition: ‘Flow’. \nFor Lisa\, the journey to this exhibition began in Burma Myanmar in 2016 and flowed through to a quote by Kabul Gibron: ‘Beauty is not in the face\, beauty is a light in the heart.’ Since 2019 she has been working with oil\, cold wax and other painting techniques\, experimenting with ways to give the viewer their own lift and ‘light in the heart’ moment. \nEnjoy the moving tranquillity of these paintings and reflect on the thoughts behind them at Lisa Timmerman’s exhibition entitled “Flow”.  It runs from Wednesday April 3rd to June 29th in our Barwell Room and Mezzanine Galleries\, open 10 am – 4.30 pm (closed Mondays).  Free entry to exhibitions\, all work for sale.  Why not take the perfect opportunity and combine a visit to the exhibition together with a trip round the adjacent Charles Rennie Mackintosh House (for which there is an entry fee) gardens\, restaurant and shop. \n  \nwww.lisatimmerman.co.uk

DESCRIPTION:The David Ross Education Trust is thrilled to welcome the BBC Singers as special guests to its Choral Festival\, featuring over 400 voices of the Trust’s primary and secondary school choirs in Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. \nThe concert features some of the most well-known pieces of choral music\, including extracts from Orff’s Carmina Burana\, Vivaldi’s Gloria\, Verdi’s Requiem and traces the history of choral singing from Hildegard von Bingen’s O Euchari to Rodgers and Hammerstein’s You’ll Never Walk Alone and Pete Letanka’s brilliant Hope and Glory. At the centre of the concert is a complete performance of Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms\, showcasing the virtuosity of the BBC Singers as well as the thrill of hundreds of voices singing together. \nThe concert will be compčred by BBC Radio Northampton’s Martin Heath and lasts around 75 minutes. \nThe choirs of Abbey CE Academy\, The Arbours Primary Academy\, Bobby Moore Academy\, Briar Hill Primary School\, Bringhurst Primary School\, Cedar Road Primary School\, Charnwood College\, Eastfield Academy\, Falconer’s Hill Academy\, Greenfields Primary School\, Kings Heath Primary Academy\, Lodge Park Academy\, Malcolm Arnold Academy\, Malcolm Arnold Preparatory School\, Newnham Primary School\, Rockingham Primary School and Welton CE Academy. \nDRET Staff Choir\, Charles MacDougall conductor \nBBC Singers \nSimon Toyne conductor
