Then try an Introduction to Portrait Painting in Oils workshop\, with artist Cordell Garfield. \nCordell is an experienced artist who will guide you through creating a portrait from a photograph. Following a step-by-step process\, Cordell’s workshop will provide advice and guidance on painting a portrait from a reference photograph. The process will cover: \n\nUsing oil paints\nThe typical proportions of the face\nMeasuring and mapping out key features from the photograph\nThe use of line\, tone\, value and colour to create the portrait\n\nCordell will provide supporting handouts as part of the workshop to explain and demystify the technical terms and techniques involved. You will create a portrait that you will be able to take away with you at the end of the workshop. \nEquipment \nPaints\, brushes\, pre-coloured paper/board\, low odour solvent and paint mixing boards are all provided. A reference photograph will also be provided.
