Running from 11 am to 3 pm\, the sessions are free to take part in and perfect for younger visitors looking to add a sweet treat to their Christmas countdown. \nWe are also launching a special Grinch-themed competition. DESCRIPTION:Sunday 9th November\, All Saints’ Church and Town & County War Memorial Garden\, Northampton Town Centre\n\nRemembrance Sunday will be marked in Northampton with a large military parade and church service in the town centre on 9th November. \nOrganised by Northampton Town Council in partnership with the Royal British Legion\, the commemorations will bring together serving personnel\, veterans\, cadets and the wider community to pay tribute to those who gave their lives in service. \nThe parade will step off from the Market Square at 9.30am\, making its way down The Drapery\, then onto George Row\, before pausing for the Service of Remembrance at All Saints’ Church\, which will take place between 10am and 10.45am. \nFollowing the church service\, a wreath-laying ceremony will be held at 10.45am in the Town and County War Memorial Garden on Wood Hill. The Last Post will be sounded\, followed by a two-minute silence at 11am. The memorial garden will remain open to allow members of the public to lay wreaths and pay personal respects. \nAt 11.45am\, the parade will reform on Wood Hill and make a ceremonial circuit around All Saints’ Church. DESCRIPTION:An ancient ceremony of thanksgiving at All Saints’ Church will commemorate Oak Apple Day and kickstart the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of Northampton.\n\n\n\nThe annual civic ceremony\, organised by Northampton Town Council and the Lord Lieutenancy\, remembers the generosity of King Charles II\, who donated over 1\,000 tonnes of timber to reconstruct All Saints’ Church and halved the town’s taxes for seven years following the blaze in 1675.\n\n\n\nThe event on Thursday\, May 29 will see a detachment from the Honourable Artillery Company of Pikemen & Musketeers be accompanied by the ‘A’ Company LNR ACF Corps of Drums\, with a parade and musket firing taking place on the piazza of All Saints’ Church around 12pm.\n\n\nThe civic procession will then enter All Saints’ Church for a thanksgiving service led by Father Oliver Coss.\n\n\n\nThe High Sheriff of Northamptonshire will then invite the Mayor to place an oak leaf wreath on the statue of Charles II\, standing high on the church’s portico. A prayer of thanksgiving is then read by the Lord-Lieutenant\, along with the playing of the National Anthem\, a toast to the Mayor and a final blessing.\n\n\n\n Stu Vincent Photography
