SUMMARY:Northampton Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The Northampton Half Marathon is back for it’s eighth year and is established as the town’s showcase running event\, as well as more charities and local communities getting involved. \nThe course is a good mix of town centre running and country lanes bringing together the heritage of Northampton’s industrial past and the pretty surrounding countryside. \nThe race starts in the shadow of the imposing Guildhall and initially routes up to the Race Course via St. Giles Street and Kettering Road\, following the perimeter of the Race Course the course heads back ito town via Barrack Road \, Lady’s Lane and Abington Street and back to the Guildhall completing the 5k Town Centre section. \nThe course then heads down to Beckets Park via the cultural museum and Derngate theatre before heading to the banks of the river Nene. We follow the river to the white water centre and then into Brackmills and then out into the country to Great Houghton. \nFrom there it is back into Brackmills and then to the finish on the front lawn of Delapre Abbey.

DESCRIPTION:Dozens of musicians will play across four venues in Northampton as part of the inaugural Town Takeover festival later this year. \n\n\n\nThe event has been put together by the team behind The Scratched Record Podcast\, which regularly covers the town’s music scene. \n\n\nFounders Elliott Farrar and Joe Edwards have already revealed part of the line-up which will play at The Black Prince\, The Lab\, Phipps Albion Bar and Brooklyn Social on September 24 and more announcements are due in the coming weeks. This includes headliners The Covasettes and Second Thoughts.

DESCRIPTION:Musicians from France and Germany will join acts from Northampton this month when Twinfest returns to celebrate its 25th anniversary. \n\n\n\nAfter a two-year hiatus due to Covid\, music venues across the town will be hosting gigs across four days with acts from Northampton’s music scene joining performers from twinned towns Poitiers and Marburg. \n\n\nLooking ahead to this year’s festival\, which takes place from Thursday\, July 28 to Sunday\, July 31\, Kenny Precious – who has been involved in helping to organise Twinfest since 2010 – said: “It feels amazing to be back\, these two years away have been difficult for everyone given what we’ve all been through and having the opportunity to put on this show again now is hopefully as cathartic for us as it will be for everyone involved.
