DESCRIPTION:An opportunity to explore this magnificent grade 2 listed building – a stunning example of Victorian Gothic architecture.\n\n\n\nThis tour will allow you to visit areas of the Guildhall which are not always open to the public. \nWe meet in the Spencer Percival foyer of the Guildhall. This is the entrance to the old part of the Guildhall by the public toilets and statue of Spencer Percival. From there we will explore areas including council and public meeting rooms\, the old Town Hall keepers living quarters and the basement cells. \nThe maximum group size for tours is 14. \nAlthough all public areas of the building are accessible by lift\, the basement can only be reached by stairs. \nDue to uneven floors in places\, please wear appropriate footwear. \nThis tour is not suitable for children under 8 years old. \nAll children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. \nTours will last approximately 1 hour.

DESCRIPTION:Commemoration of the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of Northampton with storyboards\, actors and a virtual reality app plus walking tour. Also learn about civic history with the mayor in the heart of the civic building- The Guildhall. \nThe ‘History of the Great Fire’ event will take place at the Guildhall on Saturday\, 13th September between 11am – 3pm\, as part of West Northamptonshire Council’s Heritage Open Days. \nThis year marks the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of Northampton\, so the event is set to have a fire-theme\, with actors from the ‘Mystery Tours’ bringing moments from the fire to life\, staged in different rooms within the grand Victorian building\, including the Great Hall and the original Court Room. \nVisitors can view a special exhibition about the Great Fire and learn more about the fateful day that resulted in 750 of the town’s 800 buildings being burnt to the ground\, along with visiting the Mayor’s Parlour to learn about the town’s civic history. \nThe Great Fire of Northampton virtual trail is also available to experience by downloading the Explore Northampton App. allowing users to step back in time to 1675 and experience the dramatic story of the Great Fire of Northampton with augmented reality trail through the town centre. \nVisitors can also enjoy a bonus ‘Great Fire’ guided walking tour delivered by local historian Ruth Thomas.\nThe walk lasts for 90 minutes and is limited to 20 places. DESCRIPTION:A simple scroll through Instagram or TikTok and you’ll be left questioning: do I have ADHD? The rise in ADHD in adults is undeniable. But only over the last decade has ADHD been formally recognised in the UK. It has been suggested that about 1.5 million adults in the UK have ADHD but only 120\,000 have been diagnosed. Waiting times to access an adult ADHD specialist clinic in the NHS can be up to 2 years or more. It’s hard to find support and help. \nFrom dopamine dips\, hits and myths\, how ADHD can present differently in women than men\, and the neuroscience of neurodiversity; this talk is designed to give you an increased awareness and understanding of an ADHD brain. It will include advice and tips on how to navigate a neurotypical world as a neurodivergent person. \nThis talk will also highlight how society is demanding change. People are increasingly recognising and accepting neurodiversity and self-defining as neurodivergent. Surely\, it’s time for the world to alter neurotypical societal standards as they are fast becoming outdated. \nDoors open at 7pm\, talk starts at 7.30pm – come down early to grab a good seat!
