DESCRIPTION:The tour will allow you to visit areas of the Guildhall which are not always open to the public. \n  \nWe meet in the Spencer Percival foyer of the Guildhall. This is the entrance to the old part of the Guildhall by the public toilets and statue of Spencer Percival. From there. we will explore areas including council and public meeting rooms\, the old Town Hall keepers living quarters and the basement cells. \n  \nThe maximum group size for tours is 12. \n  \nAlthough all public areas of the building are accessible by lift\, the basement can only be reached by stairs. \n  \nDue to uneven floors in places\, please wear appropriate footwear. \n  \nThis tour is not suitable for children under 8 years old. \n  \nAll children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. \n  \nTours will last approximately 1 hour.

DESCRIPTION:West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) invites the public to join them to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) at the Guildhall in Northampton on Saturday\, 5 March from 11am – 3pm. \n  \nThe event which brings together local organisations that champion women\, is being held to mark International Women’s Day which this year falls on Tuesday\, 8 March. \n  \nOrganised by the WNC Women’s Forum\, the event will support this year’s IWD theme which is #BreakTheBias\, with local organisations and groups on hand to talk to the public about the unfair treatment women can face day to day and what support and advice is available. \n  \nThe organisations taking part include Northampton Domestic Abuse Services; Northampton Community Foundation; NLive Radio; United African Association; Rights of Women; Doddridge Centre; Sikh Community Centre and Youth Club; VCSE Assembly; Peak Empower; Crimestoppers; NN Journal; The Co-op; Belling Community House Sewing Group; Neals Yard remedies; Albanian Cultural Association; Moldovian and Romanian Community and Collingtree Park Care Homes.
