DESCRIPTION:‘Spooktacular’ new augmented reality trail coming to Northampton town centre from Friday 20th October – Friday 3rd November.  \nThe free interactive trail\, via the LoyalFree smartphone app\, tells the story of the forgetful witch Wanda and her beloved cat Wicca. Wicca is missing and to find her\, Wanda must create a potion – but Wanda’s potion cupboard is bare. \nThe digital app invites participants to move around the trail\, checking in at each location to reveal and collect the potion ingredients. As participants follow the trail\, scanning the QR codes at each spooky location\, they will be entered into a prize draw to win a prize. The more QR codes scanned\, the more chance you have of winning. \nThe trail brings the story to life with a mixture of video and augmented reality. Participants can expect to see floating potion ingredients appear magically in front of them when using their smartphone camera. \nTo take part in the trail simply download the LoyalFree app for free and head to the trails section for more information. DESCRIPTION:Armed Forces Day will be marked in Northampton with a military parade and entertainment taking place in the town centre on Saturday\, 24th June.\n\nThe day will begin at 10am\, when a military parade will march from the top of Abington Street (by BBC Radio Northampton)\, onto Wood Hill\, to pause and witness the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant\, before continuing onto St Giles’ Square to salute dignitaries positioned on the Guildhall steps. The parade will continue onto St Giles’ Street and finish on Fish Street at approximately 10.25am. \nFree stage entertainment\, sponsored by the Travis Perkins Group\, will kick off at 10.45am on the All Saints’ Church piazza\, with four-piece Rockabilly band ‘Ignition\,’ who draw their influence from artists such as Eddie Cochran and Gene Vincent. They will be followed by vintage vocal trio ‘The Swingettes’ at 11.40am\, performing songs from the 1940’s to modern-day pop. Ignition will be back on stage at 12.20pm\, and The Swingettes will return at 1.15pm. \nThe Royal British Legion\, the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Family Association\, the Western Front Association and Army Benevolent Fund\, the Royal Airforce Association\, the Royal Marines Association and Help for Heroes will all have information stalls set up on the piazza\, along with the Northamptonshire Health Charity and NHS Nene Changing Minds. \nVintage military vehicles will also be on display\, including a Land Rover 110\, which was driven in Bosnia 25 years ago as part of NATO’s Stabilisation Force. \nFor full details\, please visit here.  \nFor more information about the Armed Forces Community event\, please visit www.westnorthants.gov.uk/news/west-northants-council-celebrates-armed-forces-day-2023

DESCRIPTION:Saturday March 12 to Sunday March 27\nPAW Patrol fans will be able to meet their favourite cartoon characters as Northampton town centre hosts an amazing ‘brick trail’ of sculptures from the hit show. \nThe town centre is set to host up to 21 models including favourite characters and buildings from the hit Nick Jr. show\, presented and built by BRICKLIVE. \nFamilies can join in the search and find the brightly coloured toy brick models with characters including Chase\, Marshall\, Skye and the gang all waiting to be found in and around the town centre. \nDuring the two-week event\, which runs from Saturday\, March 12 to Sunday\, March 27\, visitors can collect a trail-map and answer questions based on each of the models to be in with a chance of winning one of four £50 vouchers to spend in town centre businesses. \nTrail maps and prize draw entry forms can be collected from participating businesses and can also be downloaded from our website here. \nEntries can be posted into a specially designed post box located in Grosvenor Shopping during the two weeks the pups are in town. \nGood Luck! \n
