Enjoy a stocking-stuffed line up of free festive fun as we countdown to Christmas! Northampton’s Annual Christmas Lights Switch On returns to the Market Square with a packed schedule of live stage entertainment, community stalls, festive workshops and activities.
Join Panto Stars, The Mayor of Northampton and Santa as we celebrate the most magical time of year.
Get your skates on this Christmas for our real ice rink at Northampton Market Square.
Open from Thursday 4 December 2025 through to Sunday 4 January 2026, it’s the perfect way for visitors of all ages and abilities to get in the festive spirit.
The rink measures 22 metres by 14 metres and is covered, so you can enjoy skating whatever the weather.
There will be a licensed bar, and visitors can take part in a range of fun seasonal activities operating alongside the rink.
Ticket options include family and corporate packages, early-bird deals and skating lessons. Book by Friday 31 October for a 20% discount.
The rink will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
