Grosvenor Shopping Centre Northampton has announced the launch of its exciting new initiative, Grow Grosvenor, a competition designed to give one small or start-up business the opportunity to win a free retail unit for an entire year within the popular town centre destination.
The competition, which is open exclusively to small and start-up businesses, aims to support local entrepreneurship and encourage fresh, innovative brands to join the Grosvenor community. The winner will receive 12 months of free rent, utilities, and service charge, providing an invaluable opportunity to establish a bricks-and-mortar presence in Northampton’s busiest shopping hub.
Entries are now open and must be submitted through the official submission portal on the Grosvenor Shopping Centre Northampton website. The competition will close on Monday, 22nd December 2025, after which a panel of judges will review all submissions and select the winning business based on creativity, viability, and potential community impact.
“We’re thrilled to launch the Grow Grosvenor initiative,” said Greg Norman, Deputy Centre Manager “This competition is all about championing local ambition and helping a small or start-up business take that next big step. Northampton has a fantastic entrepreneurial spirit, and we’re proud to offer a platform that supports and celebrates that.”
The winning business will occupy a retail unit within the Grosvenor Shopping Centre for a full year, completely rent-free. If the unit is subsequently leased to a paying tenant during the 12-month term, the winner will be relocated to a suitable alternative space within the centre to continue trading.
The offer covers rent, service charge, and utilities, with business rates remaining the responsibility of the occupier. The unit is intended for retail use only and is not suitable for food and beverage operations.
