NLive Radio Christmas Present Appeal collects more than 2,000 gifts worth more than £10,000 for Northamptonshire families in need

NLive Radio Christmas Present Appeal collects more than 2,000 gifts worth more than £10,000 for Northamptonshire families in need

More than 2,000 people and families across Northamptonshire are to receive presents this Christmas thanks to the NLive Radio Christmas Present Appeal.

Gifts with a total value exceeding £10,000 are now being shared with people in need across the area through five dedicated charity partners.

Rebecca Steers, Station Manager at NLive Radio, said:

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity shown once again by our listeners and the wider Northampton community. These donations will bring joy to so many people who might otherwise go without a gift this Christmas. Thank you to everyone who supported the appeal.”

This years charity partners were;

The Doddridge Centre – A Northampton community hub offering services and support to local residents, sharing gifts with people who regularly use their centre.

Baby Basics Northampton – A volunteer-run charity providing essential starter packs for newborns and their mothers through health and family support services.

The Spring Charity – Supporting vulnerable families with children aged 0–5 through a range of community-based services.

The Hope Centre – A homelessness charity offering practical and emotional support for people facing hardship, including homelessness and wellbeing challenges.

Growing Together Northampton – A community organisation running gardens, wellbeing programmes, and family support activities that build confidence, connection, and resilience.

Rachel Bott, Centre Director of The Doddridge Centre, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to be part of the NLive Christmas appeal again, the gifts we are able to donate to the local community makes such a difference to the families that we work with. We were also honoured to be able to host an appeal box to contribute to the total gifts donated. We look forward to working with NLive and partners next year”

Tracey Hamilton, Chief Executive Officer of The Spring Charity, said:

”A massive thank you to NLive Radio and their listeners for their amazing generosity! At a time when everyone is struggling with the cost of living to see people giving with such kindness is awesome. At our Annual Present Pick thanks to all of the donations we received we were able to give 485 children a Christmas gift. Everyone who supported NLive’s campaign should be very proud!”

This year’s appeal saw over 40 donation boxes placed across Northampton, the highest number since the appeal began. These were hosted by a wide range of community‑minded partners, including the Vulcan Works, Sixfields Sainsbury’s, The Unviersity of Northampton and the Grosvenor Centre.

These varied and accessible locations helped make donating easier than ever for local residents.

This year’s achievement is especially meaningful, as it was delivered entirely without a dedicated sponsor, powered purely by community generosity and the commitment of volunteers and partners. As the appeal continues to grow year on year, NLive Radio hopes that future sponsorship support could help it reach even more families and increase its impact across Northampton.

Rebecca added:

“We’re incredibly grateful for the work our charity partners do year-round. Their support ensures these presents reach people who need them most, helping to spread kindness, dignity, and hope across Northampton.”

NLive Radio extends heartfelt thanks to all donors, volunteers, charity staff, and local organisations for making this year’s appeal such a success.
