BA & BSc Product Design

The university of Northampton product design team challenges ideas of functionality, aesthetics, materials, sustainability, social contexts and ethics so that students can design products that work and make a difference to society. This mindset will be put into practise with industry products  and contemporary technologies. Collaborative working is a recurrent aspect of design, as the development of a new product invariable involves participating in multi-disciplinary team. Students are encouraged to engage in ‘live-client’ projects with local businesses, International companies and charities such as Sue Ryder Care.

The work on display in this exhibition has been produced by second year university of Northampton students and include a Bluetooth enabled speaker and a flatpack plywood ‘Balance Bike’ suitable for computer-aided manufacturer and home assembly. All projects incorporatea strong graphic identity and product branding.
