Do you believe in fairies?

We do – and so we’re thrilled to announce our 2024 Christmas Pantomime, Peter Pan.

The classic tale of the boy who refused to grow up is a traditional favourite and for Christmas 2024 we are proud to present a swashbuckling spectacular for all the family.

The star cast is to be announced, and there will be some fantastic opportunities for local young performers as we start the search for lost boys and pirates!

Festive Fair at Northamptonshire Central Library

Save the date for our fantastic Festive Fair at Northamptonshire Central Library on Saturday 22 November from 10 am to 3 pm. The library is the place to be this festive season, with a festive market, games and fun for all the family! This is a drop-in event for all ages, so everyone is welcome.

Enjoy a great day out for all the family at Delapré Abbey's annual Christmas Fair to kick off the Festive season. Event Details Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd November, 10am – 4pm £2 per person entry with an option to donate food as well. Enjoy a great day out for all the family at our annual Christmas Fair. Pick up unique, handmade gifts from local makers and a wide range of carefully selected stalls. There will be something for all ages with food and drink, live music, and children’s activities. *Food Donations: For the sixth year running, we’ll be collecting food donations for Northampton Hope Centre and Food Aid Far Cotton to help tackle poverty this Christmas. Please bring an item of food with you on the day.

Santa’s Grotto

No Christmas is complete without a visit to Father Christmas, and the BID is delighted to be bringing Santa's Grotto back to Grosvenor Shopping Northampton this festive season. Important Information Pre-booking is required. All proceeds from this event will be split between two charities being Northamptonshire Toy Library and Rockin Roadrunner. There will be a £2 charge to secure the booking per family, using PayPal. Families will be able to take their own photos with Santa. Each child will receive a gift. Northamptonshire Toy Library would also be appreciative of new/used toy donations to support their work. These can be left at the Grotto for them.

Christmas Lights Switch On 2025

Saturday 22nd November 12pm - 6pm Market Square, Northampton Enjoy a stocking-stuffed line up of free festive fun as we countdown to Christmas! Northampton's Annual Christmas Lights Switch On returns to the Market Square with a packed schedule of live stage entertainment, community stalls, festive workshops and activities. Join Panto Stars, The Mayor of Northampton and Santa as we celebrate the most magical time of year. More info coming soon...! The switch on will illuminate the large spruce trees on the Market Square, All Saints' Piazza, Guildhall Square, Abington Square and at Becket's Park, as well as the festive installations throughout the town. The town council has invested in new Christmas lighting schemes for the town centre locations and along the Wellingborough Road. We hope residents and visitors enjoy the festive atmosphere as we will continue to improve and evolve the lighting over the next couple of years. Santa's Grotto, delivered by Northampton BID and supported by Northampton Town Council, opens in the Grosvenor Centre on Saturday 22nd November and will welcome families each weekend throughout December. The Channels are: FAMILY PARTY / RETRO 70s-00s & CHRISTMAS / CHART HITS Tickets are FREE and are for 45 min slots at 12:30, 13:30, 14:30 and 15:30.
