EXPLORING THE SOCIETY'S COLLECTIONS. The society has a number of important collections including - butterflies, shells, eggs, sands, microscope slides, rocks, minerals and Northamptonshire fossils. This is a great opportunity to look at our extensive collections, to draw, study them or just appreciate their beauty. Also, if you wish to assist us conserving or documenting you would be welcome
SPIDERS by Ian Wilson. Spiders have some fabulous adaptations to their hunting lifestyle. We will have a look at their structure and habits before studying slides in the Society’s collection to see some of those structures in detail. They also shed their exoskeletons so bring along any spider skins you find around the house or garden.

THE NNHS GLASS SLIDES OF NORTHAMPTONSHIRE. We will continue our fascinating tour through the glass slides taken by society members on trips and walks etc in the first quarter of the last century.
