Everywhere we meet - Slow Dating Singles night Inclusive singles meet up. Good music, drinks & good chats. No apps, no pressure, just real people. About this Event We’re excited to be back at Zapato Lounge in Northampton for another of our much-loved Slow Dating evenings. This relaxed, friendly format is designed to take the pressure off and make meeting new people genuinely enjoyable. You’ll be seated in small groups of 4–5, with around eight minutes to chat before we gently rotate the groups. It’s easy, natural and gives everyone the chance to meet each other without it ever feeling rushed or awkward. Once the slow dating rounds are finished, the evening opens up — you’re free to grab a drink, continue conversations that caught your attention, and enjoy the atmosphere for the rest of the night. Zapato Lounge offers the perfect setting: welcoming, stylish and ideal for a social, fun evening of connection.

From prehistoric treasures to modern marvels, 100 remarkable objects reveal the people, events, and industries that shaped the county, each telling a unique story of its cultural, social, and economic heritage. Northampton Museum & Art Gallery Saturday 20 September - Sunday 22 February 2026 This exhibition has been shaped by an extraordinary network of 51 guest curators from across the county, each bringing their own expertise and local knowledge to the project. These dedicated individuals, from historians and collectors to community groups, have worked alongside the museum team to select objects and craft narratives. Their collaborative efforts ensure this exhibition truly reflects the breadth of Northamptonshire's heritage, guided by those who know their communities best.

An exhibition of artworks from NMAG's collection celebrates the variety of genres, methods and media used by women artists, from the eighteenth to the twenty-first century. Northampton Museum & Art Gallery Saturday 11 November - Sunday 12 April 2026 Throughout history, both men and women have created art, yet only a select few have been remembered within Western art history. Art by men was historically valued more highly than art by women, reflecting broader beliefs that only men could possess artistic or creative genius. Certain genres and mediums were also considered more prestigious, while work made in the domestic sphere was dismissed as craft or decoration rather than recognised as fine art. Women were barred from studying nude figures a crucial part of classical art training until the late 1800s. Second-wave feminism in the twentieth century, and wider social changes in the twenty-first, have challenged these hierarchies. Today, women are at the forefront of artistic production, with artists such as Tracey Emin, Maggi Hambling, Rachel Whiteread and Jasleen Kaur recognised as leading voices in contemporary art.

The Gruffalo said that no gruffalo should Ever set foot in the deep dark wood… Follow the Gruffalo’s Child on her adventurous mission in Tall Stories’ enchanting adaptation of the much-loved picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. One wild and windy night the Gruffalo’s Child ignores her father’s warnings about the Big Bad Mouse and tiptoes out into the deep dark wood. She follows snowy tracks and encounters mysterious creatures – but the Big Bad Mouse doesn’t really exist… does he? Let your imagination run wild with songs, laughs and scary fun for everyone aged 3 to 103. The Story of a Man called Can Multi award-winning writer, performer and actor Rob Auton presents his debut narrative show. Having written 11 critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe Festival shows on specific themes, including the colour yellow in ‘The Yellow Show’, sleep in ‘The Sleep Show’, hair in ‘The Hair Show’ and eyes when they are open and eyes when they are shut in ‘The Eyes Open and Shut Show‘, Rob is now keen on telling you a story he has written about a man he made up called Can.
