A formidable Macy�s store executive, Doris Walker is desperately searching for a new store Santa Claus.� She hires �Kris Kringle� who insists that he is the real Santa Claus and proves immensely popular.� However, when a conflict with the store�s incompetent psychologist erupts, Kris finds himself at Bellevue where, in despair, he deliberately fails a psychological test.� All seems lost until Doris� friend, Fred Gailey, reassures Kris of his worth and agrees to represent him in the fight to secure his release.� Fred arranges a hearing in which he argues that Kris is sane because he is in fact the real Santa Claus!
