We'll be joined by the Director Tim Lovell afterwards for a Q&A so have your questions ready! She Walks A Line Documentary View all films tagged "Documentary" Feature length film View all films tagged "Feature length film" She Walks a Line is a gripping documentary that reveals the harrowing journey of thousands of young Nepali women and girls who are coerced across the border into India each year. Once across the notoriously porous 1,000-mile frontier, most are sold into the sex industry, forced into domestic servitude or subjected to organ and skin harvesting. This border has become one of the world's most prolific human trafficking routes. Amidst international indifference, one Nepali woman, Shanta Sapkota, has taken a courageous stand to combat this humanitarian crisis. Driven by heartbreak and a fierce determination, she leads a team of female anti-human trafficking operatives at the Mahendranagar crossing, a critical checkpoint where the fate of many young lives hangs in the balance. This exclusively nonwhite, female-led documentary takes the audience deep into the heart of this mission. Through the eyes of rescuers, victims, and traffickers, we witness the raw emotions, heart-wrenching struggles, and moments of triumph that define this battle against human trafficking. At...

Visualise was formed several years ago, by like-minded artists who enjoy creating diverse work with stitch as the common thread. The exhibition will also feature work by internationally known textile artist and Embroiderers Guild member Nigel Cheney who is the current mentor to Visualise. On display is a diverse array of abstract, realistic and figurative art using a wide variety of media: paper, fabric (new, distressed and recycled) and found objects which are hand and machine stitched, or felted to create art inspired by both the natural world and the built environment. The exhibition includes textile art inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and 78 Derngate itself, with framed and small items for sale. Combining a look round the iconic Charles Rennie Mackintosh House before visiting the exhibition, gardens and shop, followed by partaking of some drink or food in The Dining Room is the perfect way to spend a glorious few hours in Northampton...
