Visualise was formed several years ago, by like-minded artists who enjoy creating diverse work with stitch as the common thread. The exhibition will also feature work by internationally known textile artist and Embroiderers Guild member Nigel Cheney who is the current mentor to Visualise. On display is a diverse array of abstract, realistic and figurative art using a wide variety of media: paper, fabric (new, distressed and recycled) and found objects which are hand and machine stitched, or felted to create art inspired by both the natural world and the built environment. The exhibition includes textile art inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and 78 Derngate itself, with framed and small items for sale. BOTANY �PART 2 - STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION OF LEAVES by Mike Asquith. Mike will discuss the structure and functions of leaves. We will then look at sections and fresh samples under the microscope. Please bring a selection of leaves we can study at the meeting.

We will be hosting a Tidy Day on Wednesday 2nd�April from 9.30 am - 12.30 pm. We will be meeting outside All Saints Church if you would like to join us. This is a great opportunity for businesses to demonstrate and exercise their corporate responsibilities along with networking with like-minded individuals. The day will consist of litter-picking with light-touch graffiti removal. It is hoped that this period will also see the start of further focused activity around graffiti.

The National Theatre Connections Festival�is a celebration of young people, theatre and the importance of access to the arts. Each year the�National Theatre�commissions a collection of new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the UK�s most exciting writers with the theatre-makers of tomorrow. Royal & Derngate�hosts the largest and most diverse of the regional festivals that take place across the country, and we are delighted to welcome hundreds of young people to Northampton again this Spring. Royal and Derngate�s own�Young Company: Acting Group�will be taking part in the festival performing�Saba�s Swim�by�Danusia Samal. Content Warning: Please note National Theatre Connections plays do contain some swearing and themes of an adult nature. The performance of�Saba�s Swim�contains flashing lights which may not be suitable for people with photosensitive epilepsy.
