Not ones to overpromise, Brian and Henry are prepared to commit to delivering the greatest poetry show in the history of the world: an evening of poems to be enjoyed, not endured. Brian Bilston has been described as the Banksy of poetry and Twitter’s unofficial Poet Laureate. With over 200,000 followers on social media, Brian has become truly beloved by the online community. Henry Normal is a writer, poet, TV and film producer, founder of the Manchester Poetry Festival (now the Literature Festival) and co-founder of the Nottingham Poetry Festival. BEACH SAND REVISITED by Ian Wilson. Last year we looked at beach sand and concentrated on the Foraminifera. This year we will look more closely at other organisms likely to be found in beach sand, molluscs, bryozoans, ostracods and others. There will be a range of sand samples to look at under the microscope and, hopefully you will be inspired to collect some sand if you are visiting a beach over the summer.

Please note the date of this performance has been moved from Fri 14 March Ahir Shah presents his award-winning stand-up show Ends. The show spans six decades, three generations, and two continents, synthesising past and present in search of hope for the future. It’s funnier than it sounds, honestly. Loads of absolutely cracking gags. Ends was first performed at the Edinburgh Fringe. Starting as a work-in-progress show, it became the word-of-mouth hit of the festival, culminating in Shah winning the 2023 Sky Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show. Since then, Ends enjoyed 5 sold-out weeks at London’s Soho Theatre, and has been performed at both the prestigious Royal Court Theatre and the Netflix Is A Joke Festival in Los Angeles. He’s now finally able to take it on tour, and he’s very much looking forward to it. You should come, it’ll be good.

This exhibition addresses this fascinating topic and journeys through the demise of the dinosaurs and marine reptiles, death of the ice age mammoths and the impact of humans on the dodo.

125th Anniversary year Every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from 6th April to 28th September 2 - 5pm   Enjoy live performances from local bands and musicians at the Abington Park Bandstand, every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from April through to September.* Bring your own chairs, picnic blankets/rugs and relax within the picturesque surroundings of Abington Park. This year's performances start on 6th April and run through to 28th September.
