Free drinks reception @ ’78 Derngate’ for Rebel and Revolutionary ticketholders only

78 Derngate Northampton, Northamptonshire, NN1 1UH

For ticketholders of our Rebel and Revolutionary short film screening, you're welcome to join us for a free drink and look round the amazing 78 Derngate ahead of the screening. 78 Derngate is on the same road as the Filmhouse so there is easy access to the screening from there. Designed and re-modelled by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1916, 78 Derngate was the architect's final major commission. It is the only place outside Scotland in which Mackintosh's mature architectural and interior style can be seen in their original setting. Please see The Charles Rennie Mackintosh House - Your Visit to 78 Derngate for accessibility information - there is a lift to our drinks space - and more information about the house. Drinks and entry to the house are free to ticketholders - the house is closed to the public at the time. 78 Derngate 78 Derngate Northampton NN1 1UH March 1, 2026, 5:00 - 6:45 PM GMT

Women in Film short films (12A) + filmmaker Q&A

Northampton Filmhouse

Following sold out Women in Film screenings from 2025, they're back for 2026! Watch a selection of great films entered into this year's festival made by and featuring women and women's stories. We'll get a chance to put our questions to some of the filmmakers after the screening including Swim Sistas' Jasmine Boatswain (who you may recognise from The Traitors!), Statue in the Garden' Qianhui Yu (Writer, Director, Animator) and Playground's Tayla Halfacre. The programme includes animation, documentary, local films, LGBTQ+ drama, comedy and experimental films. There is some strong language (but within the 12A certificate guidelines), brief use of racist terms (in an otherwise empowering film), and discussion of death, sex and sexuality. Those under 12yrs are able to watch the films if accompanied by an adult. Films start promptly at 5.45pm - no trailers. Doors open 20 minutes before the films start. Northampton Filmhouse has step free access to the screening room but only 1 wheelchair space and only 1 row of chairs without using steps. The wheelchair space can be booked below but if you'd like to reserve a space in the top row please book a ticket then contact us. If you are a wheelchair user...

We'll be having a Q&A with the filmmakers afterwards. Tickets are free so we usually sell out - so please let us know if you can no longer make it so we can release your ticket. Please arrive by 8pm - we cannot hold unused tickets if there is a waiting list on the day so your ticket may be released to someone else if you are not there at the beginning of the screening. Due to the venue, young people under 16yrs should be accompanied by an adult. Contains infrequent strong language, and themes of suicide and death. Step free access on tarmac paths from University car parks and from St Johns multistorey car parks using lifts. Lift to first floor of The Creative Hub. Disabled toilet facilities. While there is no dedicated quiet space you are able to move around the University to find quieter spaces to step away from the event if needed. The screening room is accessed via double doors and has event...
