The Guildhall Ghost Tours – SOLD OUT

The Mystery Tours and Northampton Town Council invite you to step into the shadows for a spooky night at Northampton Guildhall- prepare for chills and thrills! (Suitable for ages 12+) It'll be night of spine-tingling storytelling as we bring the secrets of Northampton’s past to life inside the historic Guildhall. By flickering lantern light, the Time Traveller will lead you through a world of dark deeds, eerie echoes, and ghostly encounters that refuse to rest. Along the way you’ll hear chilling tales from across the town -from phantom horsemen to haunted inns - as well as the Guildhall’s own unsettling secrets, whispered through its stone walls for centuries. Expect trials of infamy, tales of restless prisoners, and maybe even a glimpse of those who never truly left… Dare to walk with us and discover a Northampton you’ve never known — a night of history, hauntings, and unforgettable theatrical thrills. Northampton’s Annual Fireworks Spectacular!

Saturday 1st November The Racecourse Entertainment from 4pm | Fireworks 6pm The countdown to Northampton's annual Fireworks Spectacular is on! This large-scale pyro-musical event attracts thousands of visitors every year. Entry is FREE, with entertainment for all the family. BBC Radio Northampton host the live stage entertainment from 4pm with local presenter Justin Dealey. Live party band Funk Odyssey get the party well and truly started at 4.30pm delivering a soulful journey through the golden era of Funk, Soul, and Disco with singalong favourites for a boogie to keep you warm! The Live Performers then wow the crowds with their daring, breath-taking Fire and Pyro Show at 5.45pm. There will be a FunFair for all ages and Catering Village offering a delicious variety of food and drink. Help For Heroes join us with their charity stall alongside kids Facepainting. The evening will be topped off with a spectacular Pyro-musical Fireworks Finale at 6pm. The local story of The Gunpowder Plot will play on big screens, with the Northampton Film Festival telling the tale of how history's most infamous attempt to bring down the Houses of Parliament has links to the county and resulted in the eponymous Guy Fawkes Night. Remembrance Sunday

Northampton Town Centre

Sunday 9th November, All Saints' Church and Town & County War Memorial Garden, Northampton Town Centre Remembrance Sunday will be marked in Northampton with a large military parade and church service in the town centre on 9th November. Organised by Northampton Town Council in partnership with the Royal British Legion, the commemorations will bring together serving personnel, veterans, cadets and the wider community to pay tribute to those who gave their lives in service. The parade will step off from the Market Square at 9.30am, making its way down The Drapery, then onto George Row, before pausing for the Service of Remembrance at All Saints' Church, which will take place between 10am and 10.45am. Following the church service, a wreath-laying ceremony will be held at 10.45am in the Town and County War Memorial Garden on Wood Hill. The Last Post will be sounded, followed by a two-minute silence at 11am. The memorial garden will remain open to allow members of the public to lay wreaths and pay personal respects. At 11.45am, the parade will reform on Wood Hill and make a ceremonial circuit around All Saints' Church. Participants will pass the Guildhall to salute dignitaries then continue onto St Giles' Street, up Fish Street and...

Christmas Lights Switch On 2025

Saturday 22nd November 12pm - 6pm Market Square, Northampton Enjoy a stocking-stuffed line up of free festive fun as we countdown to Christmas! Northampton's Annual Christmas Lights Switch On returns to the Market Square with a packed schedule of live stage entertainment, community stalls, festive workshops and activities. Join Panto Stars, The Mayor of Northampton and Santa as we celebrate the most magical time of year. More info coming soon...! The switch on will illuminate the large spruce trees on the Market Square, All Saints' Piazza, Guildhall Square, Abington Square and at Becket's Park, as well as the festive installations throughout the town. The town council has invested in new Christmas lighting schemes for the town centre locations and along the Wellingborough Road. We hope residents and visitors enjoy the festive atmosphere as we will continue to improve and evolve the lighting over the next couple of years. Santa's Grotto, delivered by Northampton BID and supported by Northampton Town Council, opens in the Grosvenor Centre on Saturday 22nd November and will welcome families each weekend throughout December.
