The process will cover: Using oil paints The typical proportions of the face Measuring and mapping out key features from the photograph The use of line, tone, and value to create the portrait Cordell is an experienced painter who will also provide supporting handouts as part of the workshoto explain and demystify the technical terms and techniques involved. At the end of the workshop you will have created a portrait that you will be able to take away with you. Tea and coffee will be provided. Then a super quick batch of cannoli shells filled with ricotta, icing sugar and mixed peel. One variety will be dipped in chopped nuts and the other in chocolate. Carmela will finish by demonstrating to you all, some delicious Italian jam filled cookies that you will make and bake at home. She will also show you how to make her signature amaretto and cranberry Christmas pudding, you will all make this plump fruity pudding to take home and steam. All ingredients supplied. Calling all bibliophiles. Northampton Museum and Art Gallery is pleased to be hosting our first ever book fair. Stalls will include vendors offering a range of genres from heritage and history through to children’s fiction and cookery. Whether you’re looking to pick up your next bedside novel or simply want to network with the local booklover’s community, there is something for everyone! We invite authors, literary societies and publishers from across Northamptonshire to participate by reserving a stall. Entry will be free to the public, however we recommend bringing some cash on the day if you wish to purchase books as not every stallholder may accept card payments. The fee for stallholders is £35. Please read our terms and conditions before filling out an application form. Participants will be selected on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited, so apply now. Completed applications must be received by midnight on Sunday 15 September 2023.
