  • Small Business Saturday

    Small Business Saturday returns on Saturday, 6th December, and we will be using this as an opportunity to champion our wide range of independent town centre businesses. Northampton town centre is set to burst into festive life on Small Business Saturday, with a packed programme of family-friendly activities, character appearances and a town-wide competition designed to encourage shoppers to explore and support local businesses. The highlight of the activities on Saturday, 6 December will be a mischievous ‘Grinch Takeover’ in Market Square, where families can enjoy meet-and-greet sessions with the Grinch every 30 minutes between 3 pm and 5.30 pm. Expect festive fun, photo opportunities and plenty of seasonal mischief. Earlier in the day, budding bakers can get creative at cupcake decorating workshops in the Grosvenor Gatherings unit at Grosvenor Shopping Northampton. Running from 11 am to 3 pm, the sessions are free to take part in and perfect for younger visitors looking to add a sweet treat to their Christmas countdown. We are also launching a special Grinch-themed competition. Families are invited to hunt for Grinch puppets, hand-crocheted by the Northamptonshire Women’s Institute, that will be displayed in shops around the town. Some puppets will be holding a letter....

  • Remembrance Sunday

    Sunday 9th November, All Saints' Church and Town & County War Memorial Garden, Northampton Town Centre Remembrance Sunday will be marked in Northampton with a large military parade and church service in the town centre on 9th November. Organised by Northampton Town Council in partnership with the Royal British Legion, the commemorations will bring together serving personnel, veterans, cadets and the wider community to pay tribute to those who gave their lives in service. The parade will step off from the Market Square at 9.30am, making its way down The Drapery, then onto George Row, before pausing for the Service of Remembrance at All Saints' Church, which will take place between 10am and 10.45am. Following the church service, a wreath-laying ceremony will be held at 10.45am in the Town and County War Memorial Garden on Wood Hill. The Last Post will be sounded, followed by a two-minute silence at 11am. The memorial garden will remain open to allow members of the public to lay wreaths and pay personal respects. At 11.45am, the parade will reform on Wood Hill and make a ceremonial circuit around All Saints' Church. Participants will pass the Guildhall to salute dignitaries then continue onto St Giles' Street, up Fish Street and...

    Welcome to the Amazing Northampton Run Join us in Northampton, currently Britain’s largest town,  for the Amazing Northampton Run as we take you on a grand tour of everything amazing  in Northampton! Be one of thousands to experiencing the 13.1 mile closed-road half marathon route through beautiful parks, along the riverside, past great sporting venues and amazing architecture.  The date for your diary is the 14th September 2025 Based in the Heart of England, with excellent transport links, The Amazing Northampton Run is accessible wherever you live. We are proud to work alongside over 30 charity partners, fundraising for a whole host of local and national causes.  Free charity places are available to runners in return for minimum sponsorship raised. To book your place please choose from the race type in the navigation above – Half Marathon (13.1 miles of pure joy), Half Marathon Relay (3 person team running 4.3/4.1/4.7 miles respectively) or 3 miler (taking in part of the half marathon route, be part of something amazing). And yes it’s true there is190 metres of grass and 31 steps on the route!

    Northampton Music Festival is a free annual event that takes place in the town centre and is designed to celebrate Northampton’s rich music culture. Now in its 18th year, our objective is to raise the profile of Northampton through music; to provide a showcase for the broad range of musicians and artists that are based in the town and to provide a community-focused gathering which invites all to join in a festive celebration of our music scene. The festival is organised by Northampton Music 365 – a not for profit, community group, in partnership with a range of local organisations.

  • Unity in Faith Walk

    Northampton’s Annual Interfaith Walk, themed around this year’s commemorations of the Great Fire of Northampton in 1675. A chance to walk through some historic parts of our town with members & friends of Northampton Interfaith Forum. Starts at All Saints’ Church, George Row, NN1 1DF Saturday 21 June 2025 at 11.30am. Concludes with refreshments st at the Gurdwara on St James Mill Road at around 1.30pm.
