COLLECT, BRING & DISPLAY. This is a chance for everybody to go out and collect something of microscopical interest to bring along and say a few words about it. Any item, either natural or man-made.
THE MICROSCOPIC WORLD IN PICTURES AND VIDEOS by Mike Gibson. Mike has extensive experience in using a camera with his microscopes. In this talk he describes how he creates his images and videos and shows us a selection of them, including images that have been published in a number of professional microscopy journals.
MY BEST WILDLIFE 2011-2021 by Michael Watson. This talk shows the further progress Michael has made in wildlife photography leading to his 2021 award as Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the Natural History Museum. Only 100 pictures were accepted from 100,000 entered.
EXPLORING THE SOCIETY'S COLLECTIONS. The society has important collections including butterflies, shells, sands, microscope slides, rocks, minerals and Northamptonshire fossils. This is a great opportunity to look at, draw, study or just appreciate their beauty. Also, if you wish to assist us conserving or documenting you would be welcome.
TENERIFE by Sean Karley. In this illustrated talk Sean looks at how the islands were originally formed. Followed by a look at the amazing geology visible today, then finally the plant and animal life of the island.

NORTHAMPTONSHIRE'S IRONSTONE INDUSTRY Whilst ironstone has been quarried in Northamptonshire's since Roman times, it was following the Great Exhibition of 1851 that iron and steel became significant in Northamptonshire' industrial history. In this joint meeting with the Northamptonshire Industrial Archaeology Group, Ian Clarke and Mike Ringwood will tell the story of the iron and steel industry, relating it to the Jurassic geology of Northamptonshire.
