Cake and Debate – Hosted by the West Northamptonshire Youth Council West Northamptonshire Youth Advisory Council are delighted to invite your students and young people to join us for Cake and Debate, an exciting and interactive event hosted by the West Northamptonshire Youth Advisory Council, alongside members of the UK Youth Parliament and Youth Council UK, all of whom are elected representatives for young people across West Northamptonshire. ? Date: Monday 24th November ? Time: 4:30pm – 6:30pm ? Venue: The Guildhall, Northampton ?? Free Event – Limited Spaces Available! This event is open to all young people aged 11–17 who live or study in West Northamptonshire. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some cake while taking part in lively, youth-led debates and discussions with local councillors, MPs and senior officers from West Northamptonshire Council. The discussions will explore real issues that matter to young people, such as: Should smartphones be used in schools? Tackling knife crime and keeping young people safe Access to youth transport and affordable travel Mental health and wellbeing support for young people Cost of living and how it affects young people The need for youth spaces, clubs, and local opportunities How can schools and communities...

Celebrate the unsung heroes of our community at the West Northamptonshire Male Role Model Awards 2025! Join us on Wednesday 19 November at The Guildhall in Northampton for the West Northamptonshire Male Role Model Awards 2025 - a celebration of the men and boys who go above and beyond to make a difference in their communities. Held in honour of International Men’s Day, this event recognises the men in West Northamptonshire who inspire others through their hard work and dedication. Finalists will be celebrated in a special ceremony in The Great Hall, with guest speakers, live music, and inspiring stories. The event will also feature a wellbeing marketplace in the Court Room from 4.30pm, where members of the public can drop in to meet local organisations offering support and advice for men and boys. Stallholders include Action4Happiness, SENDS4Dads, Recovery College NHFT, Andy’s Man Club, Cruse Bereavement Support, and more. Come along to celebrate positive local stories and help us raise awareness of men’s wellbeing. We look forward to seeing you there!

In this incredible talk, you will learn all about the mind body connection and fascinating examples of how the placebo effect and belief can shift biology in the brain. Dr David Hamilton will also discuss meditation, how different types can produce different effects and how positive feelings can impact the immune system and shape brain circuitry! The brain does not always distinguish between real and imaginary, and people globally have used visualisation strategies to help facilitate their recoveries from injury and illness. Dr Hamilton will teach you the simple processes involved so you can try these techniques and share them with others. Doors open at 7pm, talk starts at 7.30pm - come down early to grab a good seat!
