£3m free advertising fund launched

Mail Metro Media has joined forces with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) to give small firms struggling in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic free advertising.

Small business owners face a long road ahead as they try to rebuild themselves following the lock-down, but they are now will be eligible to apply for £3,000 worth of advertising to use across the news group’s print and online titles.

The advertising fund will give 1,000 selected small businesses access to print advertising in the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, Metro and The i, which will be supported further with online adverts running across MailOnline and Metro.co.uk.

The free advertising campaign has been put in place to encourage people across the UK to support their local small businesses – those that are still operating and those who are hoping to open safely once restrictions are eased.

The successful applicants will be matched up to a dedicated, local account manager from Mail Metro Media for full support.

FSB has created a dedicated website allowing applicants from across the UK to apply for the funding available.

The scheme is open to both members and non-members of FSB – and applications went live from Wednesday, 13 May 2020.

The main criteria that has to be met in order to apply for the funding is below:
• The business has to have been in existence longer than 6 months
• Max 150 employees
• Max Turnover £6 million

Applications are quick and easy and can be made at: www.grants.fsb.org.uk but be quick, though the scheme will be open for two weeks, it may close early if applications are high.

The advertising fund will give access to print advertising in the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, The i and Metro. These would be supported further with online adverts running across Mailonline and Metro.co.uk. A dedicated local account manager will also help ensure the campaign is tailored to the business and customers. Mail Metro Media will even create the ads for the business if they don’t have them.

Mail Metro Media will also be running supportive content championing small businesses for 20 weeks across all publications to shine a spotlight on SME’s up and down the country.
