Sponsored by RIBA East Midlands, The Northampton Society of Architects and EH Smith, and hosted by local MWK Architects, it promotes understanding and appreciation of the role of architecture within a community, historic preservation and sustainable design. Held at 78 Derngate from Monday October 6th to Friday October 10th from 18:00 to 20:00 it is designed to focus on many aspects of architecture and the topics given by leading experts in their field are as follows: Everyone’s Design Roots Revival: Heritage & Community Your Home Retrofit Biophilic Design Learning to Love Drawing Buildings Future Architects – Where to Begin Booking is essential as spaces are limited.     Retrospective - The Gallery An exhibition celebrating Tom Osborne Robinson's passion for the Charles Rennie Mackintosh House and his association with both Bassett-Lowke and the Royal Theatre, Northampton. The Mayor of Northampton will officially launch the exhibition at 2pm on Sunday February 1st From Sunday February 1st - to Sunday March 8th In The Barwell Room 10.00am - 4.30pm

    Photographic Exhibition - The Bassett-Lowke Rooms Barry Roberts has been a professional photographer and designer for over sixty years; working in advertising, photo-journalism and within the corporate sphere. This diverse collection of images are taken from his personal archive, largely un-seen before now, and represent his interest in the many cultures and countries he has visited over his extensive career. The subject matter covers a wide range of themes with both classic monochrome landscape photography as well as avant garde styles represented in the collection. Now retired, Roberts spends his time writing and researching and travelling, when possible, to visit many friends in China and Australia. All framed images are for sale at just £85 each with prints only at £75 Exhibition free - open 10.00am to 4.30pm WATCH THIS SPACE FOR END DATE, WHICH IS AS YET TO BE CONFIRMED!
