We are showing a selection of films which are in competition for Best Film at NFF 2024. Plus we'll be premiering our litter hero films made with Castle Academy supported by West Northamptonshire Council. We'll start with U and PG certificates then have a short interval after which we'll screen the films with a 12 certificate meaning you can come to the first half whatever your age. Anyone under 12 will need to leave at the interval. Filmmakers, we hope you will all join us for our awards ceremony starting at 3pm at The Guildhall on the same day to see if your film has won!

We'll be announcing the awards for Best Film in the following categories: 16yrs and Under as well as announcing the winner from our Oska Bright Film Festival selection as chosen by our Youth Disability Advisory Board AND the winner of our new Youth Advisory Board award. We will also be celebrating local litter heroes which NFF has been working with local young people from Castle Academy to chronicle through film. Doors 3pm with awards starting at 3.30pm. This is a relaxed event aimed at young people, families and those with sensory sensitives which will avoid loud music and flashing lights. There will be a quiet space available. A bar will be available. All our venues are wheelchair accessible. However it is not possible to have step-free access to the stage in this venue so in the event that someone who is a wheelchair user or cannot climb the stairs wins a prize, we will come to you on the main hall floor.

Join us for our relaxed, family friendly Opening Gala matinee which includes a soft drink in the ticket price. Walk the red carpet with us and watch some amazing films in a beautiful Northampton venue. Come dressed up ready to have your photo taken or come in whatever you feel comfortable in! Photos are optional (and free!). We'll also have an opportunity to ask filmmakers present about their films after watching them. Most of the films you'll be watching are part of our 18yrs and Under category, made by local and British young filmmakers. There's also music, comedy, dance and drama. We've got 2 screenings in one event for you - a PG screening 3pm-4pm then a short interval followed by a 20-minute 12A screening from about 3.15pm. For those that just want to see the PG films, there will be entertainment for you in other rooms in the Abbey - so bring the family and make a creative afternoon of it! Dressing up is encouraged - Make A Scene - but any get up is fine - be comfortable and be you. Your ticket includes a glass of prosecco which can be swapped on the night for a beer or soft drink. For ticketholders of our Rebel and Revolutionary short film screening, you're welcome to join us for a free drink and look round the amazing 78 Derngate ahead of the screening. 78 Derngate is on the same road as the Filmhouse so there is easy access to the screening from there. Designed and re-modelled by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1916, 78 Derngate was the architect's final major commission.
