Women in Film short films (12A) + filmmaker Q&A

Northampton Filmhouse

Following sold out Women in Film screenings from 2025, they're back for 2026! Watch a selection of great films entered into this year's festival made by and featuring women and women's stories. We'll get a chance to put our questions to some of the filmmakers after the screening including Swim Sistas' Jasmine Boatswain (who you may recognise from The Traitors!), Statue in the Garden' Qianhui Yu (Writer, Director, Animator) and Playground's Tayla Halfacre. The programme includes animation, documentary, local films, LGBTQ+ drama, comedy and experimental films. There is some strong language (but within the 12A certificate guidelines), brief use of racist terms (in an otherwise empowering film), and discussion of death, sex and sexuality. Those under 12yrs are able to watch the films if accompanied by an adult. Films start promptly at 5.45pm - no trailers. Doors open 20 minutes before the films start. Northampton Filmhouse has step free access to the screening room but only 1 wheelchair space and only 1 row of chairs without using steps. The wheelchair space can be booked below but if you'd like to reserve a space in the top row please book a ticket then contact us. If you are a wheelchair user...

Misfit and Maverick short films (18) + filmmaker Q&A

Northampton Filmhouse

Northants is a county of Rebels and Revolutionaries, Misfits and Mavericks, Creatives and Changemakers - so here's a selection of shorts from our 2026 submissions which we thought fitted under the Misfits or Mavericks themes. Here at NFF we think there's lots of positivity around the idea of being a misfit. Misfits and Mavericks think differently, take up space differently, but also sometimes we all have that desire to just fit in.... Films start promptly at 8.15pm - no trailers. If you are a wheelchair user who wants to attend but the wheelchair space is sold out, please contact us so we can see what we can do. 50p from every ticket sold for Northampton Filmhouse festival screening goes to our charity partner CLICK Arts Foundation. Home - Click Arts Foundation
