RUSTS by Ian Wilson. Rusts are one of a number of types of micro-fungi which infect various plants. They have curious life-cycles and can be found easily all over the place. So we should be able to find some material with some spores to mount and examine. I guarantee that on your next county-side walk you will be spotting rusts on leaves along the paths.

EXOPLANETS by Rodney Buckland from the Open University. An exoplanet is any planet beyond our solar system. Most of them orbit other stars, but some free-floating exoplanets, called rogue planets, are untethered to any star. We’ve confirmed more than 5,800 exoplanets out of the billions that we believe exist. Guests are very welcome.

BUILDING STONES WALK : THE GEOLOGY OF NORTHAMPTON’S MARKET SQUARE. Bob Purser will lead a walk around the historic square. We will find the oldest and the youngest rocks, lots of varieties of Mid-Jurassic geology, identify some fossils and depositional structures and a some examples of exotic rocks. We will meet at the Humfrey Rooms and finish with a cup of tea.
