Open Stage Performing Arts School are very excited to celebrate 25 years of shows; from April 2000 to the present day. From Musicals and Pantomimes to Plays and Live Gigs and everything in-between. This years summer show ‘25‘ is a celebration of previous show numbers that have been given a new lease of life with some updated choreography or vocal harmonies. Miss Rachael has enjoyed choosing songs and routines that have brought so much joy to Open Stage families over the years. Original students now send their own children to classes, Open Stage is multi-generational!  New generations of students have been enjoying learning these chosen routines and songs ready to perform on the Derngate stage. Come along to be a part of experiencing our wonderful toddlers right through to pensioners, sharing the stage.  Our Derngate shows are the highlight of our year – why not come along and celebrate with us – so that we can become a highlight of your year too!

Actors Company: Jekyll and Hyde

How far would you go to fight for change? Unravel the world of 19th century Victorian England through the eyes of Mrs Jekyll and watch how the lines between past and present collide in this powerful adaptation by Evan Placey on Louis Stevenson’s classic tale, directed by Tonia Daley Campbell and Gemma Boaden. With the oppressive nature of patriarchal England looming over the recently widowed Mrs Jekyll she finds herself facing continued confrontation and challenge. Torn between her polite societal desire to act against injustice and her growing rage to transform into something, or maybe someone, who might just be able to fight back. This story cleverly brings the past into the future and the present into the past, with this wonderful unique adaptation that leaves you questioning exactly how much has changed for women in the last 200 years. The Anglia Comedy Allstars return at the Deco Theatre at the Old Savoy, Northampton this July, with a huge line-up featuring the fantastic Tom Davis, Tom Rosenthal, Lloyd Griffith & Ria Lina. Tom Davis is best known for hit shows King Gary, The Curse, Live at the Apollo and Murder in Successville, as well as his hugely popular podcast Wolf and Owl with Romesh Ranganathan, which has received critical acclaim and sold out live shows. Tom is also known for his stand out performance in Wonka and multiple appearances on A League of Their Own, The Ranganation, Judge Romesh, and Action Team. ————- Tom Rosenthal is a familiar face as an actor and a comedian. Dancing Schools UK

Join us for the toe-tapping Grand Final of Dancing Schools UK running by Step by Step Dance School Ltd This is the 12th year of this fabulous Ballroom and Latin dance event designed to encourage school children from across the region to have a try at dancing and nurture team work. From its early days as Strictly Junior, the show has now evolved to Dancing Schools UK and seen over 3000 children having braved the stage, stepped out into the spotlight and done something they never thought they would do – dance in front of hundreds of people. In this Grand Final, finalists of the regional school heats across Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire will compete against each other to win the coveted Dancing Schools UK title and Glitter Ball trophy

Students have been given the theme of Unite as they come together to showcase their talents.  Students from Dance, Drama and Music have been working hard since Easter on a huge variety of pieces.  We are sure you will have an entertaining evening, closing off the year with a bang!

Matthew Bourne’s The Midnight Bell

Matthew Bourne’s award-winning The Midnight Bell comes to Northampton for the first time in 2025. In 1930s London ordinary people emerge from cheap boarding houses nightly to pour out their passions, hopes and dreams in the pubs and fog-bound streets of Soho and Fitzrovia. Step inside The Midnight Bell, a tavern where one particular lonely-hearts club gather to play out their lovelorn affairs of the heart; bitter comedies of longing, frustration, betrayal and redemption. Inspired by the great English novelist Patrick Hamilton (Twenty Thousand Streets Under The Sky, Hangover Square) who created some of the most authentic fiction of his era; stories borne out of years of social interactions with the working man and woman at his favourite location – the London Pub. Hailed by The Observer as ‘the undisputed king of dance theatre’, master storyteller Bourne has produced some of the most successful dance theatre productions of the last 30 years including Swan Lake, Cinderella, The Red Shoes and Edward Scissorhands.
