Get ready to hop into spring with Northampton’s Easter Riddle Trail From Saturday 5th April to Tuesday 22nd April, you are invited to embark on an egg-citing adventure through the town centre, solving brain-teasing riddles while exploring local businesses. Simply download the LoyalFree app and scan the QR codes at each spot to uncover the answers to the riddles. Complete the trail to receive a delicious chocolate treat and you’ll also be entered into a prize draw to win one of two £50 vouchers to spend locally! All those taking part can simply use their phone to solve the riddle displayed in the windows of 11 town centre businesses. Contemporary Stitched Textiles The Bassett-Lowke Rooms Sat 8 Mar 2025 - Sun 25 May 2025 An exhibition of Contemporary Stitched Art Textiles We are delighted to be hosting this new exhibition of textiles and mixed media work which has been created by the Visualise textile group. Visualise was formed several years ago, by like-minded artists who enjoy creating diverse work with stitch as the common thread. The exhibition will also feature work by internationally known textile artist and Embroiderers Guild member Nigel Cheney who is the current mentor to Visualise. On display is a diverse array of abstract, realistic and figurative art using a wide variety of media: paper, fabric (new, distressed and recycled) and found objects which are hand and machine stitched, or felted to create art inspired by both the natural world and the built environment. The exhibition includes textile art inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and 78 Derngate itself, with framed and small items for sale. Combining a look round the iconic Charles Rennie Mackintosh House before visiting the exhibition, gardens and shop, followed by partaking of some drink or food in The Dining Room is the perfect way to spend a glorious few hours in Northampton...

Please note the date of this performance has been moved from Fri 21 March Award winning writer, comedian and actor Rob Auton brings his latest show The Eyes Open and Shut Show to Northampton. Rob has written ten hit Edinburgh Festival Fringe comedy/theatre/spoken-word shows on specific themes including the colour yellow in The Yellow Show, sleep in The Sleep Show and hair in The Hair Show. The Eyes Open and Shut Show is a show about eyes when they are open and eyes when they are shut. With this show Rob wanted to explore what he could do to himself and others with language when eyes are open and shut. After writing ten shows on specific themes, he wanted to think about what makes him open his eyes and what makes him shut them.
