They take place every Friday lunchtime in the Northampton Museum & Art Gallery lower cafe area. Drop in no booking required but please purchase a drink or something to eat from the cafe.

Piddled and Paint Returns

Back by very popular demand… it’s time to uncork your inner artist! Whether you're a budding Picasso or have more of a “tipsy toddler with a paint pot” vibe, this is the perfect night out for grown-ups who fancy a giggle, a natter, and a bit of creative flair. Choose to paint a wine glass or a quality paper canvas. All materials, wrapping bits, and good vibes are included. You'll be welcomed with a glass of Prosecco or Nosecco, and there’ll be nibbles to keep the creative juices flowing. Ideal for catching up with friends and maybe creating something worth framing (or hiding… we won’t judge). We’ll bake a cake and you bring your imagination (and maybe a steady hand… depending on how much Prosecco you’ve had). This delightfully daft evening is perfect for friends to meet up, have a giggle, and create an edible masterpiece ..... no soggy bottoms allowed! You’ll get all the materials you need, plus wrapping bits so you can take your creation home (if you can resist eating it first). Tipping Point – Luke Jerram

An artwork by Luke Jerram, with surround sound audio by Dan Jones Hazel and Thoroughsale Woods Corby Northamptonshire NN17 1QG 19 – 21 September 2025 Fermynwoods Contemporary Art is thrilled to announce the upcoming presentation of Tipping Point, a powerful new work by internationally renowned artist Luke Jerram. Showcased in the largest ancient urban woodland in the UK, at the heart of Corby town centre, Northamptonshire this September, Tipping Point uses immersive light, smoke, and sound to simulate the drama of a forest fire. The installation features a bespoke soundtrack created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award-winning composer Dan Jones, which includes the sounds of burning trees, whirring chainsaws, and fleeing animals, alongside ambient, melancholic music and moving global testimonies from individuals who have experienced wildfires. The work will be unveiled from 8pm to 9:30pm on the evenings of 19, 20 and 21 September. As part of the project, visitors will have the opportunity to find information about local environmental action, including North Northants Council’s work on increasing tree canopy cover and habitat preservation.
