Northampton Museum & Art Gallery Saturday 29 March - Sunday 11 May 2025 Scientists have identified five periods of mass extinction over the geological record and the question is now being asked: are we in a sixth? This exhibition addresses this fascinating topic and journeys through the demise of the dinosaurs and marine reptiles, death of the ice age mammoths and the impact of humans on the dodo.

This year's performances start on 6th April and run through to 28th September. Please view the full 2025 schedule below. *There will be no Bands in the Park performance on 21st September, but you can enjoy the Rockin' Roadrunner Festival instead! Please note that performances may be shortened or cancelled in the case of inclement weather. National Theatre Connections Festival

Each year the National Theatre commissions a collection of new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the UK’s most exciting writers with the theatre-makers of tomorrow. Royal & Derngate hosts the largest and most diverse of the regional festivals that take place across the country, and we are delighted to welcome hundreds of young people to Northampton again this Spring. Royal and Derngate’s own Young Company: Acting Group will be taking part in the festival performing Saba’s Swim by Danusia Samal. Content Warning: Please note National Theatre Connections plays do contain some swearing and themes of an adult nature. The performance of Saba’s Swim contains flashing lights which may not be suitable for people with photosensitive epilepsy.

Simply download the LoyalFree app and scan the QR codes at each spot to uncover the answers to the riddles. Complete the trail to receive a delicious chocolate treat and you’ll also be entered into a prize draw to win one of two £50 vouchers to spend locally! All those taking part can simply use their phone to solve the riddle displayed in the windows of 11 town centre businesses. A completed trail will enable players to collect a free Easter treat from Market Square News and also be entered into a draw to win one of two £50 vouchers* to spend in the town centre.
