    For Heritage Open Days, Delapré Abbey will be open for free entry on Sunday 14th, Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th and Sunday 21st September, from 11am, last entries at 3pm. The house closes at 4pm. Learn about how the house started as a nunnery and later became home to two families with interesting stories. This event is free but pre-booking is advised.

Thursday 18th September 2025, 5.00 – 6.30pm The Beehive Harborough Rd, Northampton NN2 8LR September’s Café Scientifique is presented by Dr Declan Ryan, Associate Professor in Physical Activity and Health at The University of Northampton https://www.northampton.ac.uk/research/research-institutes-and-centres/centre-for-health-sciences-and-services-chss/ Detailed Description This talk will examine Declan’s work with Northampton’s Active Quarter and the partnership of local people and organisations. Our parks have seen a decline in public funding over the past decade even though they are a vital place to support our local communities. To promote Northampton’s Parks, Northampton’s Active Quarter was formed as a partnership to make our greenspaces easier and more enjoyable to use. Collectively, the partnership has secured over Ł1,000,000 of funding for our local parks. Declan, from the University of Northampton, will talk about the partnership and how they are working with residents to make sure parks have a prominent role in peoples’ lives for years to come.
