We're not asking you to bake a cake, but we are giving you the opportunity to decorate one! We thought this would be great fun! We’ll bake a cake and you bring your imagination (and maybe a steady hand… depending on how much Prosecco you’ve had). This delightfully daft evening is perfect for friends to meet up, have a giggle, and create an edible masterpiece ..... no soggy bottoms allowed! You’ll get all the materials you need, plus wrapping bits so you can take your creation home (if you can resist eating it first). There’ll be tasty nibbles, and a glass of Prosecco or Nosecco waiting for you on arrival. Price: £25.00 per person which includes all materials, gift wrap extras, nibbles & a welcome drink. As usual, a non-refundable deposit of £10.00 per person is required to confirm your places. Booking is essential, so please call us to save your seat at the decorating table.

An artwork by Luke Jerram, with surround sound audio by Dan Jones Hazel and Thoroughsale Woods Corby Northamptonshire NN17 1QG 19 – 21 September 2025 Fermynwoods Contemporary Art is thrilled to announce the upcoming presentation of Tipping Point, a powerful new work by internationally renowned artist Luke Jerram. Showcased in the largest ancient urban woodland in the UK, at the heart of Corby town centre, Northamptonshire this September, Tipping Point uses immersive light, smoke, and sound to simulate the drama of a forest fire. The installation features a bespoke soundtrack created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award-winning composer Dan Jones, which includes the sounds of burning trees, whirring chainsaws, and fleeing animals, alongside ambient, melancholic music and moving global testimonies from individuals who have experienced wildfires. The work will be unveiled from 8pm to 9:30pm on the evenings of 19, 20 and 21 September. As part of the project, visitors will have the opportunity to find information about local environmental action, including North Northants Council’s work on increasing tree canopy cover and habitat preservation. Heritage Open Days is back from the 12th - 21st September and promises to be bigger and better than ever! What to expect Heritage Open Days is a fantastic opportunity to explore some of Northamptonshire’s unique historic buildings and sites. Many of these sites are usually restricted access or charge for entry – but for the event they will be open and free of charge, allowing you to find out about the area’s vibrant culture and heritage like never before! Heritage Buses Northampton’s beloved heritage double-decker buses are back, running from George Row on 20th and 21st September - a perfect way to explore the town in vintage style. Keep an eye on this page for route and timetable updates, and look out for printed schedules at Northampton Museum and library soon. The classic buses will also be returning to Daventry on 13th September, after being such a crowd-pleaser last year. Don’t miss your chance to hop on and enjoy the ride!
