    Northampton Town & County Art Society presents its 107th annual show with a selection of members and non-members' artwork. The annual show features the works of professional and celebrated local artists, this year’s exhibition will again feature works by non-society members which bring an exciting edge to an already popular show, and adds to the rich variety of styles and media from the cream of Northamptonshire artists.     We are delighted to be hosting a joint venture with Northampton High School throughout February in our Bassett-Lowke Rooms and Mezzanine Galleries. The collaboration showcases our deep connections with the school's heritage. The diverse array of works on display have been created by alumnae students, most of whom studied A level Art and Textiles in recent years. All concepts shown are highly personal and it gives both the school and us - as host - real pleasure in curating selected pieces from the archive alongside works from the Class of 2024. The show provides a retrospective celebration of the girls' creative achievements within a space brimming with the school's history. It’s a truly glorious reflection of unique talent of the future!   • Royal Philharmonic Orchestra: Relaxed

    Join musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for a playful, interactive introduction to orchestral music. Featuring 25 musicians performing a range of music in ways you’ve never imagined, this event is specially designed for people who may find traditional concerts challenging to attend, including adults and children with learning disabilities, movement disorders, sensory impairments, autistic spectrum disorder, dementia and other neurological conditions, or those with young children or babies.  Including interactive elements, close-up experiences of the musicians, BSL interpretation, Makaton singalong, and gentle sensory elements, this performance is relaxed, so attendees are welcome to enjoy the concert without worry. There will be opportunities to sing, dance, move about or just listen as preferred, and ‘chill out’ spaces will be available for anyone needing some quiet time before re-entering the auditorium. At the end of the concert, you will be invited to take part in optional activities offering a range of musical interactive experiences led by the RPO musicians. SEATING OPTIONS For this show, you can either sit in the auditorium seating or sit on floor mats and beanbags closer to the musicians with space to move around.
