These dedicated individuals, from historians and collectors to community groups, have worked alongside the museum team to select objects and craft narratives. Chef Joe will be serving up a selection of mouth-watering tapas plates, and we’ll have a delicious wine to perfectly compliment each course. So grab a friend or loved one , and share the love this Christmas! On The Menu: Roasted parsnip and chestnut soup served with crispy sage and sourdough croutons. Fish course: citrus cured salmon with beetroot, horseradish cream, pickled cucumber and micro greens. Roast beef sirloin served with potato fondant, tender stem broccoli and a red wine jus. Sticky toffee pudding served with a miso caramel sauce and clotted cream. A selection a V and B Cheese. Don’t miss our hilarious, fun-filled 2025 panto, The All New Adventures Of Peter Pan, with a star-studded cast. Heading up the cast are award-winning actor, writer, comedian and presenter John Thomson, taking on the role of Captain Hook, and CBeebies presenter George Webster, who will be joining the pirate crew as Starkey. Now, in keeping with the 2 male singers of The Beautiful South, trumpet player Gareth John takes over some vocal duties on a few songs whilst Gaz goes back to his old job of being a Sax player! No Christmas is complete without a visit to Father Christmas, and the BID is delighted to be bringing Santa's Grotto back to Grosvenor Shopping Northampton this festive season. Important Information Pre-booking is required. All proceeds from this event will be split between two charities being Northamptonshire Toy Library and Rockin Roadrunner. There will be a £2 charge to secure the booking per family, using PayPal. Families will be able to take their own photos with Santa. Each child will receive a gift. Northamptonshire Toy Library would also be appreciative of new/used toy donations to support their work. These can be left at the Grotto for them.

Art by men was historically valued more highly than art by women, reflecting broader beliefs that only men could possess artistic or creative genius. Certain genres and mediums were also considered more prestigious, while work made in the domestic sphere was dismissed as craft or decoration rather than recognised as fine art. Women were barred from studying nude figures a crucial part of classical art training until the late 1800s. Second-wave feminism in the twentieth century, and wider social changes in the twenty-first, have challenged these hierarchies.
