Northampton Opera Group returns to the Royal to celebrate the life and work of the greatest of opera composers, Giuseppe Verdi — an evening to match the operatic opulence of the Theatre itself. Pianist and conductor Phillip Thomas (Cardiff Singer of the World accompanist) leads a cast of local and international singers in a delicious medley of irresistible operatic favourites. NC Jazz: Nigel Price Organ Trio

The Nigel Price Organ Trio, nominated for the 2021 Parliamentary Jazz Award for ‘Best Ensemble’ (they won in 2010) and winners of the 2016 British Jazz Award for ‘Best Small Group’ will be playing selections from their vast back catalogue as well as the recently released and critically acclaimed album It’s On! Nigel is known for his clear, no nonsense, driving approach to jazz guitar and has steadily become one of the UK’s foremost exponents of the instrument. Ross Stanley is not only one of the greatest ever UK musicians, he also plays a real B3 Hammond Organ complete with 2 Leslie speakers. Joel Barford is the man of the moment and has been causing a stir across the UK and further afield with his incredible drumming ability. This story cleverly brings the past into the future and the present into the past, with this wonderful unique adaptation that leaves you questioning exactly how much has changed for women in the last 200 years. Open Stage Performing Arts School are very excited to celebrate 25 years of shows; from April 2000 to the present day. From Musicals and Pantomimes to Plays and Live Gigs and everything in-between. This years summer show ‘25‘ is a celebration of previous show numbers that have been given a new lease of life with some updated choreography or vocal harmonies. Miss Rachael has enjoyed choosing songs and routines that have brought so much joy to Open Stage families over the years. Original students now send their own children to classes, Open Stage is multi-generational!  New generations of students have been enjoying learning these chosen routines and songs ready to perform on the Derngate stage. Come along to be a part of experiencing our wonderful toddlers right through to pensioners, sharing the stage.  Our Derngate shows are the highlight of our year – why not come along and celebrate with us – so that we can become a highlight of your year too!
