GenFest 2025: Red Rosa

Red Rosa, inspired by Kate Evans’ graphic novel, illuminates the remarkable life of revolutionary thinker Rosa Luxemburg. Rosa rose from oppression to become a fearless leader, founding the German Communist Party and challenging capitalism, war, and patriarchy. She lived radically – politically and personally as a Jewish, disabled woman. This project explores her intellectual fire, her humanity, and her relevance today, through historical archives, cats and a little live music. Red Rosa is a call to courage, resistance, and imagination.

From national stages to grassroots spaces, we’ve partnered with organisations like the National Youth Theatre and the National Trust to nurture creatives and challenge how stories are made – and who gets to tell them.
